I've never had it above 500 degrees and a broiler can get hotter than that depending where you place the dish. I would not advise broiling with it.

Q: Is 3 Quarts quite roomy to bake a bread?

I don't bake bread, but I can tell you the inside of the 3 quart dish is 4 inches high, 6 1/2 inches at the bottom and 8 1/4 inches at the top. The 4 inches high is to the very top of the dish. I hope that helps you.

Q: What is the correct height of the 3 quart container without the lid on? Is it 3.5 inches, 4 inches, or 4.5 inches? I've seen all different answers.

According to the measurements, it is 4 1/8 height without lid. Sorry I can't show you exactly, as it won't let me attach a photo here.
