This is the second kind of DJ controller I've bought, the other one didn't cut the mustard and I sent it back, but this one works like you'd expect. With mine i did have an issue with the left cue button, it was sticky and not very responsive, it had no click like it should. But, after using some cleaning alchohol and pressing it loads of times ,it fixed itself. You really need Serato Pro to make it work best and that means forking out much more money, which is a bummer. It works well and can be used at a pro level provided you know what you're doing. I've been enjoying it a lot .

I got this controller to practice mixing on at a beginner level and they came with Serato lite, overall i do like them, Serato works well, there is latency issue's that i think i have fixed, but the scratch pad is very responsive, the fx are ok nothing too fancy but they do the job, the feel of the controller is very plastic but everything is responsive and very easy to just plugin and play, no hassle easy to get started!

OK! So these controllers are really just custom keyboards for laptop based DJ software (but you know that already) allowing you to get quick access to the main features of you're preferred software without dragging mouse cursors across a screen and "alt" clicking every other feature etc. For the more creative "mixmaster renegade DJ" type, you also get to access all the trick stuff (but I don't really know enough about all that schizzle to make comment). Construction wise? Well it's lightweight plastic with a fairly OK collection of switches, sliders and knobs. The platters feel fairly good, but this is either an entry device for those looking to move onto a more rugged controller very soon, or something that comes out once in a while for the occasional house party get together. In other words I don't think it's built to become vintage If you are planning on using a microphone the lack of any purposeful Mic level control and the fact that the mic pre-amp is both on an unbalanced connection and noisy might be a reason to look at a more upmarket controller. The main LR audio output is kinda OK, but the level output makes driving Pro Amps or Pro Active speakers directly a pain and you'll need to go through some other kind of mixer/line amplifier to get a useable level. that said the Serato software does allow you to direct the Main LR audio through another audio interface connected to your laptop (which is what I do) and that depending on your interface provides a much better audio quality for your mix, however you do still have to rely on the controllers headphone output for cueing tracks (not the end of the world). Not a bad piece of kit and I can imagine there are much worse, but only 3 stars from me because of the poor audio quality.

Ho acquistato questa consolle da poco e devo dire che ne sono rimasto davvero soddisfatto. È molto pratica, ben costruita e anche esteticamente bella, cosa che non guasta mai. Uno degli aspetti che apprezzo di più è la possibilità di scratchare in modo naturale: il layout è comodo e immediato, soprattutto per chi ama hip hop e scratch, ma allo stesso tempo si presta benissimo anche a tanti altri generi (house, techno, elettronica in generale). I controlli sono ben disposti, la risposta è precisa e si prende confidenza molto velocemente anche se non si è professionisti. Ottima sia per divertirsi a casa sia per fare pratica in modo serio. In sintesi: un’ottima consolle per DJ, versatile, intuitiva e con un rapporto qualità/prezzo davvero valido. Consigliata a chi cerca qualcosa di completo senza complicarsi la vita.

Der DDJ-REV1 ist die Einsteiger-Variante der Pioneer DJ REV-Reihe, bestehend aus REV1, REV5 und REV7. Er ist als solcher das Pendant zum DDJ-FLX4, welcher das Einstiegs-Modell der FLX-Reihe (FLX4/FLX6/FLX10) darstellt. Der große Unterschied der beiden Reihen liegt in der Zielgruppe; während die REV-Reihe angehende Turntablism/Open-Format-DJs unterstützen soll, ist die FLX-Reihe eher für aufstrebende Club-DJs gedacht. Ich bin weder das eine, noch das andere. Außerdem bin ich bei weitem kein Anfänger - ich lege seit 2006 als Hochzeits-/Event-DJ auf. Warum habe ich mir also ausgerechnet den REV1 geholt? Als Event-DJ ist es immer ratsam, einen Backup-Controller mitzuführen, falls das Main-Gear (in meinem Fall ein Numark Mixstream Pro+) ausfällt. Darüber hinaus gibt es Situationen, in denen ein kleinerer/kompakterer Controller platztechnisch von Vorteil ist. Zwar erübrigt sich der 2. Punkt aufgrund der Tatsache, dass der Numark ein "All-In-One" Gerät ist und man für den REV1 zusätzlich einen Laptop benötigt. Ich habe jedoch trotzdem gerne stets 2 Controller in meinem Repertoire, um für alle Eventualitäten gerüstet zu sein. Ich bin wahrlich kein Turntablist und meine Scratch-Künste sind eher bescheiden. Dennoch war ich auf Anhieb vom REV1 angetan. Die "Battle-Style" Anordnung der Knöpfe und des Pitchfaders bietet eine komfortablere Bedienung der Jogwheels. Diese sind das absolute Highlight auf diesem Controller - Extrem taktil mit einem perfekt ausbalancierten Torque, der die Wheels weder zu leicht drehen lässt, noch zu schnell abbremst. Sie sind zudem für einen Einstiegs-Controller überdurchschnittlich groß. Abseits vom Scratchen sind sie auch für das Backcueing und das präzise Suchen innerhalb eines Tracks optimal geeignet. Wie von Pioneer gewohnt, sind alle Knöpfe, Regler und Potis sehr hochwertig verarbeitet. Das ist bei anderen Marken leider nicht so, siehe mein Numark Mixstream: Vom Funktionsumfang her zwar um Längen besser, fühlen sich die Bedienelemente eher billig an. Besonderes Highlight sind die Touchpads, die zwar verhältnismäßig klein aber dennoch gut bedienbar sind und einen optimalen Druckpunkt haben. Ein wesentlicher Kaufgrund waren für mich aber die FX Paddles. Während man bei den FLX-Controllern die Effekte klassisch, wie bei einem DJM-Mixer, mit einem Drehregler auswählt und dann per Knopfdruck einschaltet, kann man mit diesen Paddles den Effekt entweder vorübergehend durch Halten des Paddles nach unten oder durch Betätigen des Schalters nach oben dauerhaft einblenden. Diese Funktion möchte ich auch auf meinem Mixstream nicht mehr missen und feiere sie deshalb auch auf meinem REV1. Die Koppelung mit der vorgesehenen Software, Serato DJ lite, ist denkbar einfach und quasi "Plug & Play". Für Serato DJ Pro gilt exakt das gleiche, zudem können im Gegensatz zu lite alle Funktionen uneingeschränkt genutzt werden. Speziell die Touchpads bieten einige Features, die man sonst auf keinem anderen Controller findet; So kann man bspw. mit der Tracking-Funktion verschiedene Scratch-Stile simulieren, ohne dafür extra den Crossfader betätigen zu müssen. Außerdem verfügt der Controller auch über das Scratch-Bank Feature, welches sonst eher auf höherpreisigen Controllern zu finden ist. Fazit: Der Pioneer DDJ-REV1 ist ein exzellentes Einsteiger-Gerät, welches den Einstieg in die komplizierte DJ Welt dank cooler Funktionen und hochwertiger Verarbeitung denkbar einfach macht. Es eignet sich darüber hinaus auch für Fortgeschrittene und Profis, die neben ihrem Haupt-Equipment auch ein hervorragendes Backup-System haben möchten. Nicht nur für Scratch-DJs eine absolute Kaufempfehlung!
