Arrived quickly, good quality and good value

The second time I had to buy tools to save money as a diy-er. Already used them twice so I'm in the pounds seat. It's nice to still be able to do jobs and avoid going to a garage!

Surprised to find my recently purchased BMW 4 Series had star bolts holding the caliper carrier on the hub. Needed to change the discs and pads so after bending 2 13mm spanners and bursting a 13mm hex socket without any luck I purchased these star sockets. I liked the sturdy look of them and they actually made short work of the bolts and removed them with the help of my 24" breaker bar. Good job with the right tools.

I have a few little sets like this one. But liked the idea of a flexible head on this one and the 6.3mm hex and 1/4 socket fitting on the same head. Everything about the set feels quality. My only issues are thelat my set came with 2 x 5mm sockets 1x 5.5mm and then no 6mm. Clearly a packing mistake as there should be 1 of each. As I don't really use 6mm, it's not too big an issue for me to request a swap. But the other problem is that the 6.3mm bit holder doesn't contain a magnet or anything to hold the bits, or the quick adapter into the actual ratchet. So they just fall out if u tilt it downwards. If they can sort this out, it would be a perfect little set in my opinion.

I think the 'Amazon Basics' label probably does these a disservice. Having never purchased tools from the Amazon Basics range before, I was actually expecting to receive something that felt decidedly budget. But these don't! A useful range of sizes and they have stood up to my ham-fisted use over a good few weeks now. For the price, I'm very happy with this purchase.
