It comes with the strap. The item is not real leather, but it looks like leather. Very durable.

Q: can this be for a man

It's a valid question. I bought this for my daughter. I would say that yes, it could be for a man. True, the strap is thin, like a lot of women's purses, but that's no different from many of the camera straps of the 70s and 80s. You can always change the straps.

Q: does this have a snap on the bottom of the case as well as the back or does the case come completely off if unclipped from back?

There are two snaps on the back to connect the front of the case to the back. There is no snap on the bottom. It's a super cute case!
