I read reviews that this was an easy-to-use printer out of the box when using the Square POS app on an iPhone, and I am not disappointed. Will update on battery life later, but so far so good - about 50 receipts printed over the course of 2 weeks and haven't had to charge it yet.

The thermal print paper that was said that if you ordered printer this is the paper it's not . It came with a little roll,when that was used the new was to big for printer diameter wise the lid wouldn't close,so I peeled off enough to make the roll small enough to work. They sent me rolls probably 230 ft and star 300i probably take an 80 or 100 foot roll. Trying to find 31/8 in wide thermal paper that is 80 or 100 ft . We have to use the roll center to roll up excess to use in printer.

Was excited to purchase this product for my Food Truck business, but after trying to get it to work with my IPAD, I ended up frustrated. For some reason it would never connect. I called the manufacturer & Apple to see what else could be done, finally I was told , "Nothing can be done". We tried everything even backing up my IPAD & reseting it.

The last printer lasted us around 1.5 years and the power broke but i think it broke because it was dropped. Cant complain wish it was color but it does the job and thats what i needed. If you looking for portable and good printer this is.

I bought this little receipt printer to use with Apple Square Register iPad app to print out sales receipts for my fledgling nursery business. As a plug and play device it worked perfectly. My iPad recognized the printer under the Bluetooth Settings menu and connected without any trouble. The PIN, by the way, is 1234. I had some trouble finding that information. It is included on the Safety Information card. The printer is not particularly fast as others have noted, but the print speed is listed in the specifications and I'm sure it meets that speed. Just be aware that this is not a high volume machine. The receipt prints out at a nice little pace and its not so slow that you would find it unacceptable. Just don't think of it as a modern, high speed, desktop printer. Interestingly, there was no operator manual included in the package I received. It was easily available on the manufacturer's web site in PDF format, however. Once installed on the iPad, Square Register also recognized the printer and I was able to immediately print out receipts. The printer is a little bigger than I had imagined based on the photo. It seems solid and rugged and should hold up well in the field. The printer comes with a nominal sized roll of paper and virtually no information on where to get paper rolls. It does seem. however, that this is pretty standard stuff. The only issue I had on Amazon was that I could not find a quantity less than 50 rolls. I won't use that much paper in 10 years. I did find a 10 roll pack at Staples and ordered that. UPDATE ON PAPER - this printer uses very small rolls of paper and what I found at Staples does not work. I did find a supplier online that listed compatibility with this printer. The paper is 3 1/8" by 47' long. But, it is only sold in 100 roll cases. I like this printer very much, but only give it 4 stars because I had to search around for information on operating the printer and finding paper. That is a very small negative and likely due in part to my lack of industry knowledge. But, I do think a manual in the package would be nice or at least a link to the information on the web. A case for the printer would also be nice, but I just grabbed something I had laying around.

Printing is good when it's connected but rarely stays connected. I print from my Ipad mini 3 and after every print job, i have to turn bluetooth on and off since it loses connection to the printer.

Nice portable unit, appears durable, seemed to print well on our couple of test prints. Purchased it because it was listed as iPad compatible, but we use a web based POS system, so iPad compatibility was not sufficient for it to function with our system, it also needed to be AirPrint compatible. Had our Tech Services people work on it for a week, and eventually had to send it back. If you have an app-based POS system it might work just fine, but not for web-based systems.

I have one printer for an iPad and needed another for my 2nd iPad. They will not work two iPads together for anyone interested. But they do work great! Easy to install and work!

It';s not cheap....but then again this printer is top quality! It's versatile and you can carry it with you wherever you go. It connects so easy with Apple Ipad
