Worked fine for like 3 months and ever second then it randomly chooses when to slow down and be wrong! Tried new batteries several times. Just a bad clock!!!

What a simple concept of having a metal plate mounted clock slide into a wooden base- but truly beautiful. Looks contemporary and is big enough to see white hands when darker in living room. Have it on fireplace mantle and the black clock background version and one can indeed ready the time easily as another reviewer stated. Can recommend especially for the price!

I really wanted to love this clock - it looked really nice on the Amazon website, and perfect for our decor. Unfortunately, the white markers on the dial are a totally different shade of white from the hands (which are closer to cream). Worse, the base is much, much lighter than in the photos, which doesn't work with our furniture. The base is very roughly sawn with no sanding - you can see the splinters where the clock plate slots into the base, and it has no varnish, oil, or other protective coating. The first cup of coffee spilled on it would soak in and ruin it. Being a picky metallurgist, I'll also note that the clock plate is steel, not iron, although that isn't a showstopper. Nonetheless, I'll be returning it.
