I bought this to collect eggs from my laying hens. Some of the hens are older and lay very large eggs. I give eggs to my brother in one of these and he gets more if he brings the container back. I bought some of the egg holders in the camping section at Walmart and they only carried relatively small eggs. This has a hinge that will probably last longer than the other types also. I suppose they would be fine for storage in the frig also but I bought the InterDesign Covered Egg Holder, 21 Eggs for that purpose. I usually have more than a dozen eggs at any time and this container is long and narrow and perfect space wise for the fridge and is made in the USA. It is also flat on top so you can place other things on top if needed.. Of course this would be fine to store in the fridge also. Between this egg holder used to transport eggs and the InterDesign egg holder to store them in the fridge, things are much more convenient and efficient than having to rely on old supermarket egg cartons.

Product is not made of quality plastics and hinges are weak - broke at day 11 of 18 day camping/ back packing trip

First off, the price dropped by $3. since I made my purchase a few weeks ago. Secondly, I chose the most expensive egg carrier on the mistaken assumption that it would be a better product than the cheaper alternatives. In fact, when I received it it was so warped that it wouldn't close. I put spring clamps on it and left it for 3 days in the sun and now it closes. The "hinges" are still so loose that when opened the 2 sides fall apart.My old one (Coleman or Stansport I think- I've had it a long while) is a better molded product.I would have returned this one but I needed it for a camping trip a few days after I received it.Save your money.

The plastic is thicker and sturdier than I expected, but the clasp on mine doesn't really work. I just got it to hold extra eggs from my Costco trips, though, so it does the job. :)

Great thing, but unfortunately one of the closures broke on our first trip camping with it :(

I purchased 2 of these for our camper. I've only had one opportunity to use them, but I love them. They lock together securely to keep them from coming open and I feel like there is less chance of the eggs breaking when we are towing our camper. They can also stand up or lay down, making packing the refrigerator for a weeklong camping trip easier.

My wife likes this for storing eggs in the fridge. We don't worry as much about our daughter setting things on top of the eggs now and smashing them. I think this would be a good container to take hard boiled eggs to work in. I like to eat eggs as an afternoon snack and this box would take up less room in the office fridge.

This arrived with a crack in the plastic near the hinge. Also the closing mechanism really doesn't work so the eggs are not secure in the case. Bought this to throw in my cooler for camping but can't rely that this container will not open up. Cheap plastic...after reading reviews thought it would have been nicer plastic.
