Tomcat Rat Snap Trap (8 Pack)

This is an excellent product. Caught two Norway rats in my attic within 24 hours of setting the traps (one killed on catch; the other I had to finish the job). Used peanut butter as bait and didn’t do any pre-baiting or preloading the trigger.

Anyone who dislikes gopher or chipmunks ruining their landscape will love this way to get rid of them without use of poisons with secondary kill to birds or other wildlife. This product has very strong jaws so know where you placed them and keep away from children. I even got a squirrel with it. Bring in at night, using a broom handle or small piece of a branch to snap it and put away to prevent raccoons, skunks or possums getting into it and causing loss of the trap. Keep your fingers out of the way or you could lose them. Get more than one trap as some loss can happen. I throw the dead chipmunks in an out of the way place and the crows or other wildlife safely eat them. Bonus is you don't have to touch the rodent for disposal. Make certain it is dead and just open the spring to dump it.

Had a rat problem and these work better than the electric ones or the wire ones, but, they don’t last very long. The mechanism that holds it open failed on half of them. Sometimes after a catch. Sometimes without a catch. I tried everything to get them to set again, but they are useless. It feels a little like the plastic has stretched or bent. I’m ordering more because they do the job, I just wish they were more durable
