This is ONLY 2666 MHz RAM if you can use the XMP profile. Defaults to 2400 MHz.
The memory works, and so part of me thinks it should get a higher star rating. It does not, however, work at the advertized 2666 Mhz transfer speed unless you are able to enable the XMP profile. My laptop's bios does not give any option for selecting the XMP profile, so the laptop will only run this memory at its default speed, which apparently is only 2400 MHz.I didn't run hard-core cpu benchmark tests prior to this upgrade, but I did run several graphics benchmarks with the original 16gb 2666 MHz cas 19 ram that my Razer Blade 15 came with, and then re-ran those tests with the 32gb cas 16 Ballistix ram. The scores were either about the same or up to around 5% higher. So I doubled the RAM capacity of the laptop, and the cas 16 vs. cas 19 difference negated the drop from 2666 MHz to 2400 MHz, but if this RAM actually ran at 2666 MHz the difference in speed would have been greater. The bottom line is this: this RAM is advertized as 2666 MHz RAM. There's even an option that you can select on the product page when you order this RAM, where you have a 2400 MHz version and a 2666 MHz version. I selected the 2666 MHz version. The packaging that this RAM came in says 2666 MHz on it. Installed in the machine, however, it's only running at 2400 MHz, and looking at the SPD settings in CPU-Z shows why: the default speed settings for this RAM are 2400 MHz cas 16. The 2666 MHz cas 16 setting is in the XMP profile. Since my laptop's bios gives no option for selecting the XMP profile, this RAM cannot be used at that speed. So this gets a 1-star review. They have advertised this RAM in a very misleading manner. Nothing at all in any of their marketing copy indicates that this RAM is only 2666 MHz RAM if you use the XMP profile. Since I received the RAM kit and upgraded the machine literally the night before going out of town for a long while I would totally return this and buy something else in order to get the speed I actually paid for. As it is, I'm stuck with this. The RAM works, and thanks to the lower CAS rating it's not even slower than the original RAM, but I paid for a speed increase that I didn't get, and I'm very much pissed off that their marketing bullcrap lies and misrepresents the product this way. That's shameful, and they will not be rewarded with a good review for doing shady business like that.

runs at the speed of 1333 MHz DDR (2666) is an XMP profile
Lots of people are having issues with the clock speed of this RAM. RAM modules have pre-defined profiles of clock speeds and timing. The motherboard will read those profiles and select the fastest compatible one (I'm oversimplifying this explanation of course). The issue with these particular modules is that the only profile which runs at the speed of 1333 MHz DDR (2666) is an XMP profile, not a JEDEC profile. If your BIOS does not support XMP, then you will not be able to run this ram at 2666, only at 2400. Now, it's hard to tell who to blame for this one. I suppose Crucial should have included a JEDEC profile for the advertised speed of 2666 MHz which is why I took one star off. But, laptop manufacturers should also be supporting XMP. It's also a shame that these profiles are not made available transparently in the product specifications (industry standard practice it seems) before you buy so that those whose laptops don't support XMP know exactly what they're going to get. I would recommend this RAM with the caveat that the purchaser knows that 2666 is only available in XMP and to verify whether or not your system BIOS support this mode.

I dont take my laptop anywhere... and it broke.
2019/06/13I spent the last week working with just 1 ram stick, because I couldnt justify doing two sticks and getting random BSODS. The last ditch effort was to downgrade my bios. As luck would have it, I also tried playing with the ram one more time. This time it was different. Stick A would not post at all, and computer wouldnt boot with stick A in a slot. I tried stick A by itself in both slots, then tried booting with stick A and B together in different configuration of slots. And the machine wouldnt boot with stick A at all. I'm leaving the review with 4/5 stars right now because it seems Crucial will replace the stick as long as I cover mailing cost. We'll see how it goes.2019/06/01I'm updating this review to a 4/5 stars. This is because I believe I've identified that the issue might also be the electricity usage through my mother board. All the upgrades I put into the machine, a second SSD, and the 32GB of RAM seems to have been too much. Which would explain the random crashes. I've unplugged one of the SSDs and so far the system has been much more stable. This would also explain why using just 1 stick kept the system stable as well. From here on out, I'll be riding on only 1 SSD, but at least no random BSODs. I'll update this review accordingly if I find any other issues.Previous Reviews----------I've had these installed for 5 months. It's a laptop I use for gaming. I know you don't need much ram for gaming, but I wanted to treat myself to a beast of a laptop. However, as of 3 weeks ago, the computer started getting the bluescreen of death and crashing due to memory errors. I ran the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool, and low and behold, the RAM was the problem.I'm going through diagnosing which one it is right now, by removing both, and inserting one at a time, and booting, to see which one causes the crash. If it's both, then I'll be really pissed. To preface, I'm using a laptop that is position in a well-ventilated spot. It's never been dropped or moved. My controllers are wireless, and the laptop is set up to boot from a network call, so I LITERALLY have not moved it. All other pieces of the laptop are stock, and I don't overclock. I only play games on the thing.Do yourselves a favor and save yourselves the headache, buy another brand.

NOT AS ADVERTISED!
Purchased this ram combo for my ASUS ROG ZEPHYRUS GX701GWR (i7-9750h, rtx 2070 Max-Performance, 16GB DDR4 @ 2666mhz) I went to Crucial's official website and did a part picker SPECIFICALLY for this model of laptop. This model of GAMING RAM came up in their system. I went to amazon and happily paid $203.00 for this product. Upon install I was greeted in the BIOS with an unknown memory speed. Then upon Windows Launch, I discovered that this ram runs at 2400mhz. READ REVIEWS BEFORE BUYING THIS PRODUCT! FALSE ADVERTISING! Your laptop must have XMP comparability to use the RAM to its full potential. Personally I will NEVER buy from Crucial AGAIN! This is UNEXCEPTIONABLE! Especially when you have already blown $3000+ on a gaming laptop. On the plus side I guess, The ram arrived quickly and was easy to install (Minus opening my machine and removing the laptop keyboard to get to the flipped motherboard)

Bought these for my 2019 iMac
Bought these for my 2019 iMac which I purchased with the baseline 8Gb of RAM because Apple charge so much for it. Saved myself about $500 by fitting these RAM sticks myself. They work perfectly in the iMac and I have had absolutely no issues with the hardware. Highly recommended and excellent value for money.
