Time will tell but this thing works great right out of the box
Time will tell but this thing works great right out of the box.I took a RaspberryPi Zero W with noobs on the SD card and installed Raspbian. Then I added motioneyes to the system manually and everything picked the camera up right away and night vision works better than I had expected/hoped.It does seem to get a little warm but from what I have read that appears to be normal. The only problem I had wasn't with the camera but with the case I had for the Zero W. I have one of the raspberry and white plastic cases and the slot for the ribbon cable wasn't happening. I don't have a rotary tool so I had to use some files to clean it out but it works/looks pretty good.

Waste of money
Just got to install this today, about 6 weeks after ordering. Won't work on a Pi 3 Model B. The IR lights come on and get extremely hot, the power LED comes on, but trying in Raspbian to capture a still image reports "no data from sensor" and such. I also tried with the OctoPi distribution and updated the RPI firmware. Waste of money.

nice NV cam
Works great on the Pi Zero W with MotionEye OS. I had absolutely no experience working with the Raspberry Pi platform and I had the Pi Zero flashed and up and running in under 10 min with streaming video and motion detection email alerts. A bit of a lag streaming with the pi0 and motion detection (no fault of the camera) but the overall i am impressed. Setup a Pi3 with NoIR cam and MotionEye OS and got near real time streaming (very little lag) so i think if you want real time streaming you may want to look at the using this cam with the Pi3 instead. I believe i need a different ribbon cable so i haven't tried this cam on the Pi3. If you want Nigh vision i would definitely buy this over the NoIR cam (which needs a separate IR source).the IRs get a bit warm but didn't seem to be a problem. They also did not appear to run during daylight conditions. They also have the visible red glow, so if you are trying to be stealthy people will be able to see the IR LEDs.Ran the whole pi0 and cam setup streaming wireless video on a Anker 20100mAh Portable Charger PowerCore 20100 for several hours. Worked great. Very clear video/images.PROs:Works great on Pi0 with MotionEye OS (have not tried on other Pi OS)Great image/videoGreat Night vision, bright and clearly definedseems to be fairly efficient on power drawCONs:Size, full cam assy is as big as the Pi0 WIR emit visible red glowIRs do get pretty warm but didn't seem to be an issue
