Fantastic toy that’d also be at home with the collector…
This is a fantastic toy that would also be right at home with adults who are fans of the show. Playmobil have done a fantastic job here, and it's clear that they got the right people to work on this project. I bought it for my daughter, who's watching a friend restore a KITT replica, so she wanted to have the same car as he's got. The presentation of the product is really well done, with a nice unboxing experience, a manual that contains a little information about the show, three characters, Devon's desk, Bonnie's work area, and of course, KITT - who talks! Playmobil have done such a good job here, just like they did with Doc Brown's DeLorean from Back to the Future. The only niggle we have is that it's sometimes difficult to get KITT to talk - mostly because the button you press to make him talk isn't really a button. We've found this a bit hit and miss, but overall this is a fantastic toy that pays a huge amount of respect to a classic show from the 80s. The fact that KITT can talk, has a detailed cockpit, and an animated scanner is just the icing on the cake.I was lucky enough to get this at a significant discount, at around £35. At the time I didn't realise it was discounted, but considered that a reasonable price for a (relatively) small toy. However, the normal price is significantly higher, and while I can understand why this is the case (Playmobil took a big gamble making a product that's in a bit of a niche), I find it hard to believe it'd be purchased just for kids alone at that price. The normal price of around £90 puts it squarely in the realm of collectors or those with money to burn.Having said all that though, it's a great product. Playmobil did a fantastic job (it's clear that whomever they got to work on this were huge fans of the show), and I have no regrets. Thank you for doing something different, Playmobil! Now all I need are Street Hawk and Airwolf!

More detail than the proper die cast models.
I'm 50 years old and bought this because it just looked awesome. It was and I don't care it is for kids.

Super cool Kitt
I’d probably enjoy playing with this but bought for a playmobil, 80s film/tv loving boy who loved it.

Great model replica to the iconic KITT
I've always wanted a model of KITT but all the 1:18 scale models out there are so expensive its probably cheaper to buy a real 1982 trans am for the greedy prices people are asking, But this model popped up recently and for the price you cant go wrong imo, not only do you get the car that is a very good faithful recreation, but you also get the cast members in cute figurines from the show, Overall i'm very happy and it brings back alot of childhood memories, Thank you Playmobil for doing such a great job on the model

A bit fiddly to put together
I really don't understand why most of the stuff you're sticking on (with care so that it's not skewed. I used tweezers!) couldn't be done in the factory. It's adding a lot of extra work which I'm sure a parent could live without on Christmas Day, however, the show's been over for a while and I suspect it's mostly adults who are getting this as a reminder of their youth. There is nowhere to store the grappling hook under the car, which means it has to sit in the back seat until needed. Some of the parts were so small they pinged out from between my fingers while I was trying to put it together and then I had to go on the hunt under my desk with a torch. The plastic used as the telephone cords is a bit springy, so if Devon's holding the phone, the rest of it has a tendency to twist off the table. A little string would have been better, like the type used for the hook. Once together, it looks pretty good. It operates as specified and automatically shuts down if you leave it alone for a bit, which is great. Kitt's voice is a bit quiet, but William Daniel's annunciation is very clear so you can easily make out what he's saying. All in all, as someone who dreamed of owning such a car when I was a teenager, I've a silly grin on my face. Yes, I'm really too old for such things, but I loved the show and this will look fine on a shelf, to be played with (yes, us olduns do still play when no one's watching!) occasionally. For the big kid at heart who loved this show, it's good. I'm not convinced it would be any good for a careless child. I think they'd break it far too easily.
