This fire pit is brilliantly made and designed. Yes it is expensive but it will last.. Watch out for non brand accessories, I made the mistake of buying the mesh spark guard from somebody else and its rubbish.

This works wayyyy better than I thought it would. Deflects the heat much better than not having it. I have two bonfire model solo stoves. One I take camping and the other sits in the center of a permanent brick fire pit next to our pool. When the wind blows the shield really doesn't help. But if there is no wind you can sit back much further and enjoy the heat. Without it you have to sit way to close tho these to feel the heat. Ive used this deflector in both scenarios and it works well. Way to expensive for what it is but it hasn't warped or changed shape at all after about 10 hot as hell fires.

The media could not be loaded. Was very Lee to see how this works. We have the pit and I have been enjoying hallowe’en films out the back garden with the fire. But now it’s getting colder I wanted a bit of a warm.I read other review of the knock off brands and saw they don’t last very long so I was happy to invest a few $$$ extra for the real deal.It is very well made, easy to assemble in less than two minutes. It fits on the fire super easy and looks pretty nice.But I was still cold. Extra log on the fire… still cold. Eventually I realized I was sitting too far away. To get the benefit of a warm you need to be pretty close to the pit, it’s a lovely warm and nice, but not as wide a circumference of warm as I was hoping for.

You needs this now. You just don't realize how much you do until you set it up and sit around the stove the first time. Wife is always cold and would sit basically on top of the stove before this. Not even she is crispy warm and can sit in our chairs while feeling the heat. Assembly isn't bad even though some people complained about it. Typical guy, didn't read instructions and had it together in 10 min. You will use your stove more and also enjoy it more as well. Price is tough but seeing how you are already in the hole for the stove itself, what a few extra bucks if it enhances the experience. Easy to add wood with this on.

We had some people over to sit around the Solo Yukon and it was pretty cold. With the fire going strong, we noticed that almost all the heat was going straight up and we had to lean in pretty close to feel any heat. After that night I checked and saw that Solo made a device to fix just this issue. Now, it is pretty pricey for a pressed disk of stainless steel, but it's heavy and feels like it will last forever.A few weeks later we had another fire and were able to sit in our chairs and have the heat come out towards us. I didn't even have to use as much firewood. It sits high enough that you can put more wood in without any issues. There's a bunch of storage bags out there for less price than the expensive Solo one.This piece of kit is a bit of money, however, you've already decided to join the expensive Solo Stove club anyways so what's a few more hundred dollars to keep everyone toasty.

In the winter this has completely hep add some warmth with re directing the smoke. Easy to put on top, does get hot so can’t remove till cooled down but has never been a problem for us. Perfectly fits our solo stove

We’ve had a solo stove for several years and love it, but you definitely find out you have to be pretty close to the pit to enjoy the immense heat the stove puts out. I ordered the heat deflector and there’s definitely a difference in the heat you’re able to feel when sitting around the fire. It was super simple to put together (my 14 year old did it) and sits right on top of the pit. I was worried about being able to add more wood, but the clearance is enough to side new logs in when you need it. I used BBQ gloves to lift off the deflector at the end of the night to extinguish the flame with no problem. Would recommend.
