You will know the dehumidifier is on. It's not loud, but it isn't quiet either - it could double as a white noise machine if you are in an enclosed area. I have an Ecobee thermostat that indicates the humidity in my home is 53% at 74 degrees - I've been running it for 11 hours and no water has accumulated.Update: I've been using this dehumidifier for ~48 hours now...less than one ounce of water has collected. I tested this dehumidifier versus another brand of similar size and the other humidifier is pulling nearly an ounce of water out of the air every two hours. Maybe this works in a rainforest, but not under normal conditions in my home. I've returned it.

Purchased for a small bathroom. It does remove some humidity, but not as much as expected. The "switching adaptor" gets really warm, but as there is absolutely NO manufacturer info on either the unit or in the SMALL uninformative manual that arrived with it, it is impossible to contact anyone to determine if this is normal. I would NOT recommend this unit to anyone unless you just want something cute to sit in a small room! Spend about double the money & get a unit that will remove an adequate amount of humidity & that the manufacturer is proud to put its name on!!!Update: Haven't checked my account but have been told my $$ has been refunded. If that is indeed true, thank you Violette! In addition to this unit being a major disappointment, I was told I was the only customer who had mentioned the issue of the hot plug! In reviewing other customer reviews, I find this is not true. I was told it was unsafe to use w/hot switching adaptor & to cease using it. Possibly this item should be removed from sales until this safety issue is resolved. I would downgrade my review to a "1 star" from the original "2 star" based on the safety issue....don't want my house catching fire while I sleep, do you????? Again...save the money you would spend on this & add additional $$ to that & purchase a quality unit that removes humidity & is not a safety risk & comes with manufacturer information. The unit is manufactured in China by a company whose name I have never heard. Buyer beware!!!!!

It's a nice small package that looks neat. I use it to dehumidify my bathrooms to prevent weird stains from appearing on my walls. I'm not sure if it's better than other dehumidifiers but it seems to at the very least keep the weird stains from appearing on my wall. I actually bought a timer to go with it so I can just have it run for 2-4 hours before shutting itself off. Liked it enough to buy two so I could put one in each bathroom.

We live in the south of the US where it's very humid and with a brain condition that increases my inter-cranial pressure, the moisture in the air causes me a lot of pain. I have purchased this about a month ago, and it has decreased my sinus issues and head pain dramatically from the first 20 minutes it was plugged in, and still. You can take a look at my picture and see for yourself, this product works great! This is only a day and a half of running (recommend only running it half a day as the plug box for the wall gets pretty warm). I will be buying one of these for every room!

This has run 24/7 in my very humid bathroom here at the beach...it works perfectly, is quiet and turns off when reservoir is full...it sits on counter so I empty reservoir once a week...takes no time.

I actually ordered two of these. And really truly, I do love them. They work really well. However one of them is whisper quiet. And the other one isn't. They both started out quiet and then after use one of them is noisy. But it's something I can live with. If not for the noisy one I would give them five stars.
