Superb item fitted straight in to slot mo issues

Got this to replace an old letter box which was almost identical but had a broken outer flap. This one had the screw holes slightly wider than the ones already on the door so I had to widen them a bit more by cutting the UPVC door frame with a Stanley blade.The letterbox slotted into the frame easily and screwed in well. Felt tight against the door.The draught excluder bristles are on the inside of the outer flap, as opposed to the inside of the inner flap. I guess you could place the letterbox the other way round but then the screw heads would be on the outside.Feels average quality for the price.

Less than 10 mins to fit and easy instructions good buy at twice the price.Nice quality, good colour, adjustable thickness with 2 sets of screws and light weight.

I purchased this letter box July 2023. It’s now April 24 and as you can see by the photos it has discoloured. I am unable to return or exchange as the return window is now closed so will have to purchase a new one elsewhere. Other colours may be fine but clearly black isn’t.

Absolute junk, captive nut housed in plastic and held in place with a dab of hot glue… so as you push to tighten the screw on one side of the door, it dislodges the nut on the opposite side, which then spins and destroys the plastic locking seat and can’t then be tightened sufficiently. Terrible design.

Somehow the inner part of my letterbox (the brush section) vanished. I suspect a delivery was rammed through letterbox & it was broken & then removed! I thought I only needed the brush section and it would be a simple case of screwing the brush plate in under the flap. Turned out that although the outer dimensions matched but the inner dimensions were larger than the original opening. I had to cut the opening in the upvc door to make larger, then I had to saw off 2long impeded screws from the mechanism before it fitted!. I am a DIY novice but I managed to fit it and was really pleased. I then realised that the original letterbox had seen better days & needed replacing anyway because this new letterbox works brilliantly. The spring close on the flaps are great, the brushes dense, looks great and no more draughts. Had my letterbox opening been of same dimensions then it would have been more straightforward to install but if I managed to do it anyone can! Would recommend.
