Imaginative but simple recipes! Worth a try!
There are some really lovely recipes in this book, which are modern and imaginative - and nicely sub-divided into sections covering: express lunches, weeknight feasts, something special and desserts. There is also a picture with every recipe, which is really welcomed as visually I am far more likely to try a recipe if I can actually see what it should look like! There are some wonderful recipes, that I can't wait to try, like 'Charred peaches with berry rosewater yogurt', 'tuna and olive baguettes' and 'lemongrass and lime prawns with broccoli rice'. Feeling hungry even when writing this review!I like the attention to detail with the ingredients, for example a large onion is marked as 200g which is handy and the tips, where alternative ingredients can be used and where you are likely to be able to buy them from. The book, even though clearly produced for the Australian market, has been adapted to appeal to the UK market and the majority of the ingredients would be easy to acquire in the UK. There is a conversion chart covering Australian / UK / North American / New Zealand measurements, which is helpful. There are just a couple of small criticisms, the print is quite small and may be difficult to read. It would be great if the calories per portion were also included.

Useful but not a lot for vegetarians
This is a pretty useful book of quick to prepare meals. In particular here are some nice ideas for lunches, including things that cam make a packed lunch for work - green turkey wraps (essentially using lettuce a the 'bread' so healthy too); chargrilled veggies & butternut dip wraps; decidedly more-ish veggie & chick pea fritters; cheesy chorizo quesaditas. Main meals include spinach & ricotta stuffed chicken; soy-glazed salmon with greens; lemongrass & lime prawns with broccoli rice; sesame-crusted chicken; Mediterranean mac & cheese; chilli & chicken tostada; spiced steaks with grilled aubergine salad. There's also a section for 'something special' although thy look like pretty ordinary dishes to me! To give you an idea, there's Thai pickled fish burgers with pickled vegetables; sausage & peppers with soft polenta; Greek pork skewers with crushed white beans; Spanish chicken, chorizo & rice soup; veal scaloppine with lemon & capers; couscous & dill crusted fish. There is also a cheat's roast lamb dinner - no, lamb sausages, no matter how thick, do not a roast dinner make! The final section is for desserts - things like Lamington cream layer cake (delish!); salted caramel & apple ice-cream sundaes; ice-cream sandwiches; charred peaches with berry rosewater yoghurt which will be a lovely summer dessert; pink lemonade fools; coconut rice with mango & raspberries; passion fruit, lemon & coconut tarts; watermelon, lime & berry cheesecake jars (essentially a deconstructed or rather unconstructed cheesecake)Each recipe includes tips an suggestions for substitutions. Prep times are in the ball park. There's not much for vegetarians but there are recipes that can be readily adapted.

Great recipes
This is a very good quality recipe book. You may find some of the recipes too simple (prawn sandwiches with chips sounds like a gastropub option). Others are slightly more complicated, but none are difficult (though I was surprised to find the vinaigrette had eight ingredients). None of the ingredients should be difficult to source in the uk - they do not require you to chase down a wallaby. If you like Italian and Greek food, you'll see new variations of them here. We particularly liked the desserts. And yes, you can do them in 30 minutes. the book is 9" x 8" illustrated hardback with wipe clean cover. Highly recommended.

Good mix of recipes with easy to follow guides and clear images.
Good mix of recipes.Easy to follow with clear information on weights, and processes as well as images.Lots of recipes I havent seen or heard of before which sound adventurous and difficult but are simple to follow.Have only made the thai fish burgers and the spicy miso dumpling soup so far - both were easy to follow and tasty and I would happily recommend and am planning on making more.

First catch your Drop Bear...
All the recipes are presented as a full page photograph on one page, with ingredients and instruction on the other. This makes it easy to see what the dish should look like on the plate.I'd say the recipes are at, or a touch above, the complexity of Hello Fresh/Gousto; of course, you need to source your own ingredients but a big supermarket should have them. The 'Something Special' recipes are the more complex recipes. Recipes are marked as meat-free, gluten-free etc.I am looking forward to trying the recipes. Recommended.

Excellent cook book
As long as you have everything ready at the start, then these are 30min recipes and much more exciting than just rustling something up at home. It provides perfect inspiration for quick yet tasty meals. The recipe book is well laid out with a clear picture, ingredients list and instructions. Yes there are some simple recipes but equally a few more challenging ones. My wife loves this book and the family approve of the food, so no complaints here are good value for money. Highly recommended.
