This is sort of an offer you cannot refuse.
What can I say? If you are going to use zipbolts, you almost have to have a reasonable template. It is sort of required.But... seriously, this is very overpriced for what you get. The quality of the bits is fair. I ended up having to use my own forstner bit for the large hole, as the included spade bit just was not cutting it on hard maple.I will also warn you now: If you have any sort of miter on your joint, the location of the large hole indicated by this jig is incorrect. You will end up having to plug the holes and drill again. Yes, I know there are videos online showing how the hole placement is perfect. It is not. You will need to move the large hole further away from the end for any miter.

I definitely suggest this drill guide if you are trying to install zipbolt hardware
This made installing the Zipbolt hardware really easy. Without question worth the money - it helps reduce the risk of making tiny mistakes that end up costing you a lot of time. I really like the little pins that dig into the wood and hold everything in place.

Works Perfectly
We used this product for handrails going up a staircase and building a floating railing with no corner post. The joints in the bolts look to be a little bit weak at the pivot point so be careful not to put too much force on them. Test out your pre-drilled hole on a piece of scrap material of the same species of wood to make sure that the bolt goes in snug but doesn't require so much force that you might snap off the bolt in your railing! Use a quality wood glue on your joints, the bolts alone will not hold your railing joints together on their own. They came with oak plugs so if you are using Mahogany like I did or another species you will need to get your own plugs. My carpenters are the best around, you will need to have a very high level of skill and patience to do this. If you are a professional, I would recommend using these.

Works as advertised BUT…..
Product works as advertised. But, I found pocket screws to be even easier, quicker and just as effective. Not a bad product and definitely the way to go in your using Zip Bolts. Just think that there is a better option.

Not great
, this is overpriced for what you get. The quality of the bits is poor. I ended up having to use my own forstner bit for the large hole, as the included one does not cut well. The hole size is wrong.

A Must Have
This drill guide performed exactly as advertised and as far as I am concerned is an absolute must for drilling straight and matching holes for joining handrails together and for joining handrails to fittings or getting holes in the right locations for joining handrails to walls or posts. I tried free handing the drilling process with no success. With the drill guide I got accurate holes every time. Well worth the money spent.
