Never thought I'd be so happy about doing laundry but that day has finally come!!! I have a tumble dryer and I've been using it for 3 years but this year it was so hot that I just couldn't afford making it even hotter in the room so I looked for alternatives as I have a big balcony and it never occured to me that I can actually line dry my clothing outside. When looking for air drying racks I was torn between this Vileda one and the tall one with hangers but I am sooo happy that I have bought this one as it seems pretty sturdy and takes on a big load of clothing! My tumble dryer was actually getting rid of the detergent smell that I was using, my clothes always smelt of hot nothingness once dry but not anymore. Now when I hang my clothes outside the smell is so strong until they dry and then the smell gets subtle until you wear them. Not to mention how therapeutic it is for me when I take those couple of minutes to hang my clothing I get a lot of thinking done which feels really nice. The dryer is as tall as it should be and clothes take a couple of hours to air dry. Then no more procrastinating as before. I am guilty to say that with the tumble dryer I'd sometimes leave my laundry in there for a week! But not anymore as I bring some hangers and my laundry basket on the balcony and my clothes get folded or hanged and then stored away nicely in the dresser to make room for another load of clothing! I love the little installment for socks, very cute and quite handy. So far, no socks have escaped, even the thinnest pair. The price of this rack is also quite good too (got it for £25 but it's worth every penny)! It terms or wear, we shall see for how long this item lasts but so far so good. Very sturdy and great ... fits a full load on washing on. Folds up easy and has a clip to keep it closed.

Folds down easily and compact, the centre part is great so that you can fit sizeable things on them, like big jumpers, sheets etc., plenty of hanging room, light and easy to handle, when open it stands nice and stable. Wished I had bought it years ago. Great price and delivered quickly very pleased and can highly recommend.

Much better size than my previous dryer and more flexible as you can unfold the sides. Works well for a family of five but also good for smaller households, -my dad has one and lives on his own. Can't comment on durability as it is new but it looks like good quality and seems strong. Clothes dry well as it is well designed and big enough for air to circulate.

Brilliant size and sturdy!

We may not use this product in the way that the manufacturer intended, but it is perfect for our requirements. We live in a valley here in North Devon, and for most of the year washing will not dry out doors, although it always goes out during the summer, weather permitting. We have a lot of washing, far more than a normal household, so efficient drying is a great need. We chose to use a good quality de-humidifier, rather than a tumble dryer. Enter the Velida X-Legs Indoor Airer. For years we have used a cheap copy, which on the whole worked quite well, but was most certainly flimsy. After a few mishaps it became obvious that we had to get something stronger and more safe. We found this Velida Airer on Amazon, of course, and based upon the design, which was very similar to the old one, we went for it. WE are delighted with the Velida X-Legs Indoor Airer. It fits the top of the work bench perfectly (once I removed the wheels and plastic feet, which came off easily). We even found that it holds almost as much washing as the old one but far more securely. Folding up and down can be a little tricky, especially for an old doddery like me, but I still have ten fingers even after several attempts by the Velida dryer to chop them off! I have made one modification to the dryer (apart from removing it's feet). If you look at the third photo you will see clearly the two black clips that go over the joint in the legs that makes the thing foldable. Well Velida (as with the cheap airer manufacturer) only supply one of these clips - why? Goodness knows, since these clips must cost them next to nothing, and when used as a pair make the whole airer that much more stable, and safe, in use. Velida, if you read these reviews please take note! And - it makes no difference whether the airer is used on the floor as intended or up in the air, as not intended - the extra clip is essential for stability!!! Anyway - having said all this - this airer is an excellent product and to be highly recommended. In our experience well worth the extra cost over the cheaper versions that are not made by Velida.

I'm so pleased with this item. I've injured my back and really struggled with hanging the washing and stretching. This airer is the perfect height. No need to stretch up or bend low down.Easy to fold and unfold. The wheels make it easy to reposition.

3 stars is an average. Five for quality of dryer if complete, one star as delivered with a corner containing wheel missing. I bought it to replace a thinner, lighter, metal dryer which I have used for five years now. That has been so useful, to dry things outside in good weather, and to air indoors things which have been tumble dried in bad weather. The continental style flat dryer, so much better than the usual British concertina model, has been an essential and enjoyable part of my life for all that time. I upgraded to this to give myself a treat. The Vileda dryer is a big, impressive, much heavier one, with nice wide bars to prevent marks on clothes, an altogether superior product to my original one. Alas, it has had to be returned because of the missing corner and wheel.
