Engaging. Fun to play, pleasure to see/feel
Great game. We're relatively new to gaming (pretty much just Settlers of Catan before). We really like it. This is a bit complex, it requires attention--they are many choices of where to invest your resources (degrees of freedom), so multiple viable strategies are possible. Random behavior (eg, picking tiles from a bag) is limited, which I like in a game (can you go GO?) The board is pretty. it's well made. Bit of a table hog. First game, as total newbs, took four hours. Half a year and a four games later we're down to about 1 1/2 hours per game.

My favorite Azul!
Azul: Queen's Garden is a beautifully designed and highly strategic board game that offers a unique and challenging gaming experience. The game is easy to learn and set up, but offers a depth of strategy that will keep players engaged for hours. The objective of the game is to score points by placing tiles and creating patterns on your player board. The game mechanics are simple yet compelling, and players must carefully consider their moves in order to score the most points and secure the win. One of the standout features of Azul: Queen's Garden is its gorgeous tile art and high-quality components. The game pieces are well made and the player boards are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The game's also has a ton of replayability as each playthrough offers a unique experience due to the random tile draw mechanic. This makes it a great game to play with friends and family, as players can try out new strategies each time they play. One thing I love about Queen's Garden is its balance of deep strategy and tactical gameplay. Players must plan ahead and make strategic decisions, while also being mindful of their opponents' moves and adjusting their tactics accordingly. This creates a delicate balance between long-term planning and short-term tactics, making it a challenging and engaging experience for players. Additionally, the game's random tile draw ensures that each playthrough is unique, further adding to its replayability. In conclusion, Queen's Garden is a fantastic board game that offers a unique and challenging gaming experience. Its beautiful tile art, high-quality components, and well-designed mechanics make it a standout game in the board gaming community. Whether you're a seasoned board gamer or a casual player, Azul: Queen's Garden offers a satisfying mix of strategy and tactics that can provide hours of enjoyment. If you've played Azul and are looking for some deeper strategy, or just looking for a new and exciting board game to play with family and friends, I can highly recommend!

Best Azul Game
As a fan of the Azul games, this is by far my favorite. This is a tile placing game that uses patterns and colors in order to score and create a beautiful garden. If you've played the base game of Azul before, you will pick up the rules easily. If the Azul games are new to you, it might take a youtube video or two to learn. It's not a difficult game to teach or learn. Once you know how to play, it's simple to teach and retain. While it can be fun and easy to play, I'd suggest an age minimum of 10. The game takes maybe 30 minutes for two players and about minutes for 4 players. Several rounds make for a great night. Max is 4 players. I've tried adding another game to get up to 7 players but it doesn't work at all. Like all the Azul games, this game is made of good quality paper for the boards. The hexagon tiles are bright, bold, and beautiful. All in all for the money, I've gotten my values worth and more with how many times I've played this. 10/10.

More challenging Azul version
This game takes some time to learn but is more challenging than other Azul games which we liked.

Our favorite game….now.
We have a thing in our house called “The Queen’s Garden Effect”. Basically when we got this game it took forever to understand play and we thought we would never enjoy it. But it is now our hands-down favorite game. We love to also play Wingspan, Calico, Cascadia, Everdell and Harmonies. But, Queen’s Garden ranks #1 most requested. So, if you get it, don’t give up! Once you get running smoothly it’s a great game. (we usually play 4 player)

Extremely complicated... But extremely fun!
We got this for my in laws after falling in love with the original Azul game. They said they couldn't figure out how to play it because they're "too old." The next time we visited them, my husband and I took on the challenge to learn the Queen's Garden. There are so many moving parts and it was extremely confusing to figure out. The first time we were actually able to play through, we focused on the basic rules of taking pieces, placing pieces (and "paying" for them), legally building the garden space, and scoring each round. The second time we played, we were able to figure out scoring the end of the game and since then have been able to actually have a strategy while playing. We taught my friends how to play and they picked it up about the same way we did, but it was definitely easier for them to have someone know what they're doing to guide them. Now it's one of my favorite games but it's definitely not for everyone.

Great game!!
Super fun game! Takes a while to learn, but after the first try you’ll want to play again and again!! Would recommend for azul lovers! I guess it’s harder than the first one to learn, so wouldn’t recommend for a first azul game purchase

More for gamers, not as much a gateway like the original
Unlike the original Azul, Queen's garden is a much more complex game and we loved it. I incorporates more layers of complexity to keep in mind when planning a strategy. This is not for everyone, whereas the original Azul is a game for everyone. It is not terribly complicated though, but definitely a lot more than the original. Great quality! Love the feel of the pieces. Just like the original Azul.
