UPDATE:After a few weeks of using this sugar, I actually love it better than the Teavana brand. This being pure cane sugar with no added candied pieces certainly accounts for NO aftertaste.Just 2 level scoops (tsp) of this is enough to give texture to any tea. The cloudiness is obvious but the taste is delicious! I bought a jar here at Amazon just for this sugar. I actually love the subtleness and smoothness of this sugar.I’ll buy this again!STRENTH:This sugar is half the cost but also half the potency of the Teavana brand. More of this sugar is needed to bring the sweetness to the level of the Teavana brand.APPEARANCE: Compared to other brands, this yields a more cloudy look which is not appealing when drinking from a clear cup.FLAVOR: The flavor is milder yet rich and satisfying to the palate. This has much less aftertaste than other brands due to its subtle texture. This could be due to this sugar being produced solely from cane sugar and not combined with candied pieces as with more expensive brands.SUMMARY:If you’re desiring a more robust sugar, this may disappoint you. Doubling up on the amount should compensate for the subtle flavor but this increases the overall cost. Strength for strength, this sugar will cost as much as the more expensive sugar costing twice as much but requiring half as much per cup.

I am a new to tea drinking and I was not aware these existed.After reading the reviews that said the sugar enhances the flavor of your tea, I was skeptical. But I bought it anyways because of so many great reviews.After trying these, all I can say is “wow”!I don’t know what sort of sorcery is in this sugar but it really does enhance the flavor of your tea without that heavy sweet taste you get with regular sugar. As a matter of fact, I drink my tea with no sugar for this reason. I can’t compare it to anything else because I’ve never known a sugar to do this.I will say this, if you like your tea super sweet, this may not be for you. Or you may have to use a lot. I only use about a teaspoon for my cup of tea and it’s perfect. Will definitely continue to buy this.

I got hooked on the rock sugar when I wouldMake my monthly visit to the Teavanna store by my strain station (sigh — miss you Teavanna). Ever since I started using the rock sugar nothing else really hit the spot in my tea. I tried turbino sugar which was fine, but was really excited when I found this on Subscribe&Save! I was down to the bottom of my canister from Teavanna and wanted something a bit more affordable and easier to find / get my hands on but still good quality and this definitely fit the bill!This rock sugar dissolves well, adds a great sweet (not not overly sweet) taste and dimension to your tea. I have this on a 3 month schedule and it works perfectly for my household. High recommend if you’re a rock sugar fan for tea!

Love that it adds sweetness without changing the tea flavor. A lot of people have been commenting that it is flavorless— but if you read the product description, that’s sort of the point. This tea sugar in particular isn’t used to add or manipulate flavor— just enhance it with sweetness. Which it does perfectly so.I’ve been using it in fruit based herbal teas and I LOVE IT. It doesn’t change the flavor profile but is makes it less tart and more sweet. The best way I can describe it is eating an unripe pear versus a ripe one. Delicious.The only reason why I am giving four stars as opposed to five is because I definitely think it takes a lot of sugar rocks to achieve this desired effect. The recommended size is one teaspoon, I use over a tablespoon. Way more than if I were to use regular sugar.Overall I would highly recommend. Love the product. Especially recommend to big tea fans that are uninterested in changing the flavor profile with regular refined sugar.

Item arrived within 24 hours of order. Item is exactly as described. Came intact in a sealed bag. Love to use this kind of sugar for tea and when guests come by. I think it makes a better presentation than just regular white sugar. Flavor is very good, no aftertaste. My only observation is the color of the sugar did not appear to be quite as amber as it was in the photos. This is not a negative, just an observation.

I was struggling to find a good rock sugar as I used to buy it at Teavanna and they no longer have brick/motor locations. This came in super quick and are great quality. The crystals as large enough to give great flavor but no so large that dissolving them is a problem. I like that they come in a resealable package so I don't have to worry about them getting moisture and sticking together - I like the rock sugar but don't want a rock!

I was worried that it wouldn't do too much for my tea at first since it wasn't sweet at all when I tasted a piece, but it has a lot more effect once it's dissolved. I especially like how it's not overpowering like table sugar but will still greatly sweeten your tea if you choose to put more in. I only wish it was sold in a larger quantity but you really don't need to use much for it to work. A simple teaspoon per cup and it's practically sugar water. It dissolves fairly quickly too. Would buy again.
