Very sharp but for straight cutting ONLY
Yeah, they're sharp and stay that way. But DO NOT mistake them for all-purpose knives. They're not. Even the slightest catch or twist will cause the blade edge to chip. So just don't use them in situations that might involve any amount of twist; like boning anything. If the edge catches on a bone... snap, out comes a chip. That and a $40 increase over 11/2019? That's ridiculous. I bought my set a year ago and now they're FORTY dollars more? No thanks. My advice, add one or two of these for special use, but stick with regular metal knives and a decent sharpener for everything else. If you don't already have decent knives, GET THOSE FIRST.

Crazy sharp! Worth the money.
Wow! These knifes are CRAZY sharp! I just finished cutting some tomatoes with slices so thin (and effortless!) they are translucent, around 1 to 2 mm thick. You will find nothing sharper, and thus you will spend more time cutting than sharpening. The only thing you should not do is debone meat, where the knife acts as a lever as well as a cutter. It is sharp, and hard. The trade-off is of necessity brittleness. If it were made of pure diamond, you would have the same problem. For me, I would rather cut and not fret over sharpness than cut, realize the knife is dull, sharpen and then cut again. And realize that for the price of some of the best carbon steel knives, you get this entire knife kit (for some of the more exotic, even two!)! That is what puzzles me when people complain of breakage. It is a rare event (I have another Kyocera knife I have used for 4 years), but even if it breaks, the company will replace it, and you are $$-wise still way ahead. Well worth it!

Careful very sharp but they are also very fragile
Love these and they are very sharp! We cut nothing off the bone and nothing frozen to avoid any chips on blade but if you are not careful in how you "place" them in the sink you may chip them just with that act! That is my only complaint! Lost a knife just because of how it was put in the sink! Now when we use it we was and place on rubber mat right away to avoid this accident in the future!

A Cut Above
I love Kyocera’s ceramic knives. They are super sharp and cut like a hot knife through butter. The only downside is they’re fragile: the ceramic that makes them so sharp also makes them delicate, much like an obsidian blade (or dragon glass if you’re a GoT fan). These knives are great for cutting crisp and sturdy items like fruit and vegetables. They cut boneless meat well as well. I made the mistake of cutting meat off of a bone and chipped the knife blade a bit. That’s what I get for not following the instructions. Anyway, when handled with care and cutting the right items these knives are exceptional.

It broke
I purchased the knives in February, great knives. One of them broke already. How can that happen?? Who do I contact for replacement? Thank you

Do not recommend. Poor quality. Broke after a few uses.
Bought for a wedding gift and they broke within the first month.

Love Kyocera Knives!
These knives handle almost any cutting, slicing and chopping job around the kitchen. They stay sharp and make prep work easier. I really like the knife block -- it keeps my knives safely in reach. Great product! I highly recommend.

Snap Crackle Pop
These knives looked great. We liked the black. Unfortunately, one by one. They chipped and disintegrated inta grandma’s rotting teeth.

Goos quality kitchen knives, but pricey.
Excellent quality and superb to use compared to steel. The holder is also a must because these knives are ceramic and need to be handled with more care than metal. The offer of lifetime resharpening is why I chose these over knock-offs. Quick delivery too.Update: the shipping costs to resharpen these is very high and one of the blades became very jagged with mild sharpening with a diamond sharpener. Have to downgrade my rating because the cost seems high now. They did stay sharp for a very long time versus steels knives though.

Poor quality - chipped blade
Extremely upset with the quality of these knives I’ve had one of the knives in the past and bought these as a setI was cutting a bar of chocolate with one of them and three chips came off the knife. If it wasn’t for noticing I would’ve eaten the chocolate and possibly cut my throat or insides, I was also intending giving some of the chocolate to my two-year-old and thank goodness I didn’t Very poor quality I would say not the originalWould Not recommend or by againI bought in November so I’m past being able to return them but I hope if the seller sees this an contacts me to sort out some kind of refund or replacements

Dangerous...these knives chip!
These knives chipped while cutting vegetables (raw carrots) on a bamboo cutting board. I thought they were defective, so I had them replaced, but I have experienced the very same problem with the replacement. You can see a fragment of the blade in 1 of the pictures. Hopefully the other fragments did not end up in our digestive tracts!

All knives in set chipped
These knives shipped after 6 months of usage. We kept the knives in the block at all times and never put them in the dishwasher. Health hazzard and inconvenient, especially for the price.
