When I first reviewed this unit, I gave it a one star because the battery failed to hold the charge right out of the box. However, after interacting with their excellent customer support, I have changed it to a five star. I had a choice of returning the unit to Amazon for a refund, or to Naviskauto for an exchange. Naviskauto told me they would prefer that I send the unit to them so that "they could analyze the problem". This told me that I was dealing with a company that was not interested in accepting that there "may always be some defective units", but who wanted problem units to come back so they can work towards zero defects.I decided to return the unit to Naviskauto for a replacement, and now that I am using it, I am very glad I did. Excellent sound and picture quality, and very lightweight.BTW- the warranty on this unit is 18 months, not the standard 12 or less, and it it appears to be a full warranty, not one of those limited ones that only apply to items that never break.One feature this DVD player has that was lacking on every other portable player I've owned- The battery will charge while playing a video!There is one aspect of their Customer Service to be aware of- Their customer service is based in China, and their service time is GMT+8.For this US American who is used to customer service to be available when I want it, getting emails at 3am took a little getting used to <G>.. Bottom line- based on other reviews I'd say they got some defective batteries. If you get one of those, please consider returning the unit for a replacement. I don't think you will be disappointed that you did.

UpdateI said below that there was no indication of when the battery was charged. Because we use the generator only occasionally, the unit hadn't had a chance to fully charge.... when it is fully charged, the red charging light changes from red to green indicating a full charge. There however is not onscreen indicator of charge percent or remaining time left.Due to Hurricane Irma and no power I was in the market for a good, larger portable DVD playerSo far, this seems to fit the bill.Lightweight, with full set of controls on the player, charger block, and damn, a carrying case, with pockets for the charter, cables, and remotes. (stretchy and has a sort of neoprene-like feel to it)Can plug into a TV (RCA cables included) but (obviously, see above) am unable to do that.Headphone jack on the side works well (I cable my Bose Headphones into it) but there is no wireless capability (and I didn't expect it based on the product description)Some oddities though, with the manual and one gripe (below)They appear to have one manual for all models and only refer to one remote... this one came with two, what appears to be a "remote-lite" powered by two AAA batteries (supplied) and a fancier remote powered by one of the disc batteries (also supplied). I am puzzled by why to remotes (maybe one a bit more kid friendly?) but they both work so no issues there.I've played about four movies (maybe six hours) and so far no issues.Only gripe I have is there appears to be no indicator indicating battery charge

When it first arrived, the battery would not charge. I then contacted the seller. Apparently this is a common problem with this player. The seller was very nice and very helpful. I sent back. I'm not sure if they sent me another one, or fixed the original one and sent it back. Either way! Overall this is a very nice player. The picture and sound qualities are very good. Last night I purposely ran the battery down because I wanted to see just how long the battery will last on this 14 inch screen. I watched for over 5 hours and it still has some life left in it! The only thing I do not like about it is that this player is quite noisy! do wish it had a battery life indicator. This is a nice player! They just need to fix the problem with the battery.

If I could give this product a zero I would!! We have barely used this DVD player and the unit is not working - no sound, no picture - nothing. First the battery sign kept flashing and then nothing worked. The battery would not take a charge. We used this unit once for a road trip and then did not touch it again for several months. It is still in warranty but past the amazon return period. Contacted the seller and manufacturer but no one responds. I thought this was a good brand but I will never order from this manufacturer again.

great picture, decent sound, clunky controls. one feature I really like is the last memory play back. it even works if the disc is removed then reinserted. I was surprised at that.now the reason for only 3 stars. partially, because of the clunky controls. the buttons are large, but require a very solid push, and the on screen setting interface isn't so intuitive, and requires extra button steps to make changes.but, the biggest reason is the battery. it does not hold a charge. when I received it, I immediately charged it according to the instructions. I then tested it on the battery, and it worked fine. I figured I was good to go. fast forward a few weeks as I take the trip that I bought this video player for, and it will NOT work on the battery. it wont even turn on. has to be plugged in every time.this is disappointing, as the battery was part of the reason I purchased this model. and, now unfortunately, by the time I got back from my trip, I am outside my return window.

This seller is very responsive. The first they sent had a bad battery that won't hold the charge, but the seller replaced it with a new one and this one seems to be working fine. It sweavels 180 each side, the picture is clear and sound is good. The remote is responsive and works fine. I haven't used all the features yet, can't tell more. But so far, so good even thou kind of on the expensive side.
