Works great for pool auto cover
Great little pump. Using it on an automatic pool cover to keep the rain water off of it. The original pump that we were given by the pool installer burned up after approximately eight months of use. Hopefully this will last longer. They seem to be very similar build and quality. Very heavy duty plastic. Highly recommend buying the little nozzle that looks like an elephant trunk so you do not have to monkey with drainage hoses. Typically shoots the water approximately 12 feet. Wish it drained down farther, leaves about 2 inches of water around the pump whenever it is done x10’ circle. Maybe 3/4 a gallon that it just doesn’t suck off. Prior pump did the same thing so I did not decrease a star for that but I do see cheaper looking models that say down to 2/5” +30sec pump time to get more off. Might try that at some point, but they don’t look trustable to leave while you go on vacation.

That it is sturdy and it works very well through ice, snow, windy conditions, and all
I have left this on my pool all through the winter and it froze and it thawed out and it took the water off the pool and it’s still working so it’s really a good product. This also works to drain deep water it is fully submersible. Worth the money.

Amazing pool cover pump! Been over 2 years so far.
Awesome pump for my pool. It’s been 2 seasons now and it works wonders. I leave it on top of my pool cover (solid cover so liquid gathers on top of it) throughout the fall and winter. It’s outdoors the whole time and I’ve never ran into issues with the pump not working. Most of the time issues I had was my neighbors pine tree clogging up the hose.Surprisingly durable for continuous outdoor use.

Good but could be better
Works Excellent, removed water off of 33" circle above ground pool, but as others have stated, the rubber 1" to 3/4' adaptor wears out quickly and will need replacing. Pretty evident design flaw and needs corrected. ~8-dollar replaceable part but hard to find not without ordering online.

Still hard at work
We ordered this in Dec 2018. It sits on top of the tarp that covers our in-ground pool during the wintertime. It works like a champ, and as far as pool related purchases go, it's been the best "optional" item we've bought. If you read more informative reviews, you'll note some say to make sure the hose length shouldn't exceed about 20 feet. They are right. Our hose lies across the tarp headed to the nearest edge. We position it so that it's about 12-18" from one of the in-deck drains, and that's how we get rid of the siphoned off water. To keep the hose from flopping around (the water can spout out quite energetically), we slip the end through a hole in a brick (holds it still) and lay another brick over the hose to hold it down.A bonus to this pump is that we use it to empty our hot tub (above ground). Yes, there's a spigot at the bottom of our tub for emptying, but this thing pumps water out SO FAST (I forget the gal/min rate), my husband and I just take turns holding it (because you do not want to submerge the pump). Remarkably fast. The only "issue" we've had with it isn't even the pump's fault. We discovered that which outlet we use for it matters a great deal. We have one on our patio and one inside our pool supply closet. We initially plugged it in to the patio outlet would come home from our Christmas holiday to find the GCFI tripped and the outlet inop and a deep collection of water on the pool tarp. The outlet in the pool supply closet (which is adjacent to the patio) was the better way to go. The good news is the pump, once the outlet was reset, cleared the water off in no time.We highly recommend this little workhorse of a pump!

Pay the money for new
My previous Little Giant pump finally died after 10 years of service (including Winter), so I decided to buy another one. I purchased this used/reconditioned Little Giant through Amazon to save money versus buying a new model and it failed on the first day of use. It was described as being in mint condition, but out of the box, it looked in worse condition than the 10 year old pump I was replacing. I tried it anyway and as mentioned, it stopped working on the first day of use. My lesson learned - pay the extra money and buy a new pump.
