upgraded mouthpiece
The Bach 3C silver trumpet mouthpiece is absolutely outstanding. The craftsmanship is flawless, the feel is smooth and comfortable, and the sound quality is noticeably richer and more controlled. It gives a beautiful balance of clarity and warmth, and my player immediately felt the difference in response and endurance. This is one of those upgrades that truly elevates performance—worth every penny and then some!

This is now my go to Mouthpiece for my Back Strat
This is my favorite mouthpiece and the best decision I have made when it came to buying a new mouthpiece. I was using a C, but this E allows me so much more flexibility when it comes to playing my 12 scales. It fit perfectly into my Back Strat and was easy to use. The sound quality was great, and it's easy to clean. It is well made and very durable. I expect it to last for many many years. Very happy with my purchase

Great feeling and playing piece ...
(Review by a pretty ordinary, though nerdy and gear-headed, amateur player!) I started playing a size 6 rim a couple of years ago and it was one of the best things that happened to me as a player. I've slowly collected a range of these (e.g., Bach 6BM, Bach [straight] 6, Yamaha Hagstrom, Curry 6TF...) and they've served me very well on C and Bb in various configurations. I do have a 6C with the throat opened to 26, but purchased this 6C so that I have a newer stock piece (= 10 backbore and 27 throat). The Bach 6C plays nicely on the C trumpet, although for extra presence, I've found the 6BM almost a must. Nevertheless, the 6C (stock) can provide good precision and tone on lighter playing above the staff. I find it gives a good focus to the Bb trumpet as well. Anyway, don't just jump into a 1 1/2, or even a 3, without first spending some time on the 6. Dr. Valve (Chicagoland) passed along the observation that too many players with ordinary sized lips are playing pieces that are too big. Though the ideal mouthpiece size is very individualized, just recognize the temptation to play something too large and see what you can do with a piece like the 6 with different throat and backbore combinations. (I keep my Yamaha Hooten for fun, but haven't had success and sustainability with it like I have the 6.) The Bach 6C is a great way to try it out. (Note: for picc playing, you can try a different company, but I've gone with the Bach 7EW. I can switch between the 6 and the 7EW very comfortably due to the extra width of the latter.)
