2.5 Gallon Hedpak W/Cap

These HEDPAK Containers WORIK GREAT FOR HOLDING HOT TAP WATER from a water heater source. These containers stay rigid and firm and do not soften up when hot water is inside them. I have experienced no leaks from around the cap and it fits snugly onto the threads. The containers are sturdy, and the thickness of the container is great. I am using these 2.5-gallon containers for heating a cat bed inside a cardboard box covered with blankets with a small swinging cloth cover for a cat door to keep the heat in. I placed a continuous 3/4" thick piece of foam around 3 sides of the container held with ("DUCK" tape advanced formula from Walmart) duct tape, so the heat is emanating from one direction only. I measured the temperature to still be in the 50's when the temperature was -1 degree F outside. (With a 4 layer fold thickness of blanket around the outside the heat lasts 6-8hours, and at around 30 degrees outside the heat lasts for about 12 hours before changing the water is necessary.) This is a really nice product and performs perfectly for my needs.

I am very impressed with these containers. There is so much junk in this category that I was relieved to find these. Although you’d always want containers thicker, I found these to be perfectly sized - not too thick, not too thin... just right. They are well made and don’t flex much at all when moving them around full - whereas others leave you doubting. The wide-mouth lids are sturdy as well and lock-down strong with no wiggle. Overall, very stout jugs for this class. Surprisingly, there are volume markings (Gal. & Liter) molded into them which I hadn’t expected - side-note: they actually spelled out the volume numbers (“One, Two, Four, Six, Eight”), which I have never seen done and probably limits their international appeal, but I was grinning about it... kinda unique. The only caution I would offer has nothing to do with the jugs themselves, but rather the users. They are translucent (natural HDPE - stout, durable material) which users should understand that it’s not the best for sunlight resistance, but most importantly you should not store potable water in them long term unless they are kept in a dark place - fairly, all clear/translucent containers have this issue. Algae can bloom in the water with just the right amount of light/glow, even white/lightly colored jugs. I’m talking months of storage, but just be advised - outstanding jugs, but if you’re planning on storing water long term, keep them in the dark or treat the water.

So I live in Olympia Washington and we are able to enjoy water from an Artesian well!! Great water and I drive downtown and fill bottles, as so many local folks, for enjoying this chlorine free, 500 year old water. Well the trick is the right bottle that is durable and does not soil with algea, easy to clean. So these are those bottles!! Wide enough mouth to clean with a 24" bottle brush however the algea does not seem to attach to the walls of this plastic. 2.5 gallons is perfect size as I can carry them both in each arm, nice weight. I think 5 gallon gets a bit heavy. No smell or taste!! Made in Canada and delivered by Hudson in about ten days. Great bottles, durable and seal well, no leaking :) Enjoy!! UPDATE after 6 Months. Bottles continue to perform really well, I only have to clean them occasionally and there is no plastic smell or taste, great bottle for water!!!

These work great and are durable. These were a replacement for another brand that was lesser quality. Definitely worth the money. Plus, no leaks!

Durable. Rugged. Exactly what I was looking for to store distilled water. Worth it.

Have had a couple of these for over ten years. Got some new ones and they appear to be as good as the old ones. Caps do not fit very well on the new ones but they work OK.

They are 100% what I wanted. Super sturdy. Very very pleased.

I needed water jugs to carry water out to my horse to fill his bucket. I was using clean cat litter jugs but they didn't hold up too well and would get a crack somewhere. These are exactly what I was looking for! The handle is comfortable when carrying full jugs. They're tough enough to be used going inside and out every day in the cold weather. They're designed to carry / store water so no worrisome chemicals! The hole where it pours from is just the right size-easy to fill, easy to pour. ....and that's all I have to say about that.
