Deff gets you thinking of weird names!
My husband and I have pretty common names... easily spelled and people still had issues with spelling and saying them! So I don't believe kids should be limited to those names that have been around 100 years or names that are just easily spelled. My full name is also 21 letters long. I never had an issue spelling it as a kid. You learn! like anything else. This goes over a lot of names that already exist, which a lot of people don't like. But we didn't think of it that way. We just looked at first and middle names and tried saying them outloud to see if we liked them. Lots of them are quirky but if you like different, you'll like this!! I also like it because baby name books now have like everrrry cultures popular baby names. Which is great for integration of families or namesakes but I don't think it applies to THAT many people. It was nice to see an American made book... with American names. I didn't like having a baby book with 100 pages of names I can't even say. And we like different names! So this was perfect... even though we ended up just making up our daughters name! But it was nice to know the name we picked wasn't as crazy as some names in this book!Take a chance!

Creativity for Baby Names
Do not buy this book if you are looking for a traditional baby name. I bought this book for a friend who is expecting and looking for a "original" baby name. This book defintely has strange names, yet they are usable names that will not embarass the kid for the rest of their life. It is well organized into categories, so you are not going alphabetically the whole time you are reading.

Pretty good lists
I got this book because I love baby name books and it was only $4. I think it was worth it because I really enjoyed the different lists, but I don't think I would spend any more than that on it. There is no girls list and then boys list it is all just basically mixed together. Still it did have a few cool names. I loved the suggestion of Annika (Anna and Nikki are my two favorite nikenames) but it also had some crazy and very not cool suggestions like Modesty and Cotton. If your thinking of buying it don't pay more than $5 for it and know before hand that it is just different short lists. No origins or meanings or descriptions on the names. It is a fun kind of gag book but not a serious baby book at all.

Just plain fun to read through
I used the first edition for my first two kids, the second edition for my third. It is a fun book. Some of the names in it are laughable but some are perfect. Names you have never heard of to names that you have but aren't so common. The lists are interesting to read through. For those who don't want their child to be the 5th "Madison" in their class at school.

A Few Good Names
I really wanted to love this book, but in the end it was just average. There weren't as many names in the book as I would have liked. Some of the classifications were witty, while others were a bit of a bore. I think this book is really lacking in the boy name department. It was an okay book, but if you are only going to buy one baby name book, don't make it this one. Buy one with more options. The names do range from extremely common to who-names-their-kid-that.

A little TOO cool...
If you are the type of parent who might name a baby Bloodrayne, Wilhelmina, or Egle, this is the book for you. With chapter titles such as "Video Game Names", "TV-Character Names", and "Supermodel Names", you certainly won't be bored reading this book. There are some creative chapters that I applaud the authors for including (i.e. "Molly Polly Poppy- Coolator", "Macrae- Mac Names", "Christo- Artist Names"). I was looking for a book that might help me consider classic but not boring first names and possible middle names...and found myself disappointed. I think the book was just a little TOO cool and "far-out" for me.

Awesome book
This book helped me name my baby! So many options, and it narrowed down only the cool names from the current time period. Throw out those giant old baby naming books. This one will take you into the new century of names and can really help a struggling couple find a unique/unusual name. HIGHLY recommend!

Great ideas!
This book was so much fun to read! There were great ideas that we had never thought of. I loved the foreign language names, and place names. We wanted something unique but that wouldn't get our kid made fun of, and this book had a lot of great options.

Choosing a baby name
This book must have all the names possible to choose from. A great book for parents-in-waiting and good fun too!

Fanatastic book to get some perspective on naming.
This is a good book for those left-field names whether you want to use them or not. It is sectioned in an interesting way and we found it great for finding out where each other's "absolutely not!" points were in terms of what we would name our children. Nice gift too!

A few cool names
This book was alright. There were 3 or 4 names in here we would consider, some not so cool ones and some outright bizzare. It was worth purchasing.
