Got it for a STEMy 4yo who loves it. She regularly asks to count with it. The quality seems good to me.

Zero stars. The beads move so easily. When you touch the abacus (even if it is flat on a table), beads all over it move. This is totally useless. It cannot be used reliably.

It is what I thought that it would be...This is the second one like this that I have ordered and both have been new and the quality that they said they would be. I like the orange beads, my other one is white but the same size and weight.I don't find anything wrong with the construction of this Abacus, The beads are nice and smooth, the rods are some type of wood, maybe bamboo? It is a heavy plastic that seems strong with no twist to the frame.I know why they are the size that they are and would like to see some about 50% larger to make it easier for older people.What I don't like is that most people call these toys, they are not toys but are mechanical adding machines that need no batteries. It keeps your mind sharp and active. This is a good training aid for any person no matter what age. Once you learn to use one of these you will like using one.I think you will like it and so will your family, I would also recommend it too.

However, in this abacus, the dot is between two columns. The correct placement would be for the dot to be in the column immediately to the left of where it is in the photo. It's nothing that a marker pen can't fix, but it's something to be aware of. Because of this detail, I've updated my rating to 4 stars.
