Best pocket knife I've owned.
Love this knife to death! Been using Buck knives and other brands forever. Last year I tried a SOG Trident and loved it. Ended up losing it but bought this to replace it. Its a world of different from the original Trident. The casing nice as the rubber helps when your hands are wet. Only tried the glass breaker once (first time ever for me and scared the crap out of me), and worked well. The blade is sharp so the cord cutter worked REALLY well. Just make sure the blade lock is on before using the cord cutter (I made that mistake once already and felt like a complete idiot. Won't EVER make that mistake again). The blade comes razor sharp and has thus far held its edge well. If you haven't noticed, the blade itself has a curve to it. This helps when cutting rope as the slight bend keeps the rope on the blade during sawing motions. The SOG Assist is crazy strong. Knives I've using before (especially with Gerber) required a little wrist flick to make the blade come out really fast. The assist on this knife is so strong that the blade practically forces its way our after a small touch to the thumb nub. When I first got it, I was being especially careful with it as to not mar any of its surfaces. Not expecting such a strong assist, I tried to carefully open the blade with 2 hands. Holding the handle in my right hand and slowly pulled the blade with my left (spine, or dull side of the blade towards the palm of my left hand) the blade shot open with so much force that the blade slipped through my thumb and index finger and open straight past my left hand, slicing the palm of my left hand right open. Crazy thing, the only edge of the blade that touched me was the tip and the blunt spine. This just goes to show how sharp the blade tip is and how strong the SOG assist is. This knife is solid and IMHO worth every penny.

Good EDC knife
This is a good knife for every day carry. It feels solid in the hand and the parts feel robust. The windshield hammer and the seatbelt cutter are nice as well. The only thing I would have liked is a rubberized tip on the pocket clip so that it doesn't scratch stuff up. Here are the other things I noticed: 1. Opening of the blade required quite a bit of force, but once that force is applied, the assisted opening makes sure that the blade fully deploys and locks every time. 2. Closing the blade requires putting and maintaining pressure on an unlock button and then folding the blade it. This will take two hands because the deployment assist gives resistance. Also, the unlock button is a bit loose. It doesn't affect the operation of the knife, but when the knife is closed, it can be moved along its track. 3. The seatbelt cutter uses the main blade, which will make it easy to sharpen. When the knife is closed, the seatbelt indent exposes a small section of the blade. There is a safety that prevents opening the knife, which I assume is to ensure that the blade does not accidentally open while cutting a seatbelt.

Great Knife, EDC for me
Everyone who touches this knife comments on how light it is. I'm pretty rough on knives, and I have tried to baby this one since I don't want to break the tip. That said, I've made some exceptions that should have cost me a tip or chip of the blade, but the steel is amazingly strong. I've got 2 other SOG knives and the outstanding market is that they all hold an edge forever (it seems) and are super easy to sharpen. It looks cool, for sure. Unlike most knives I carry, every time I pull it out, someone asks to see it. I'm not sure how practical the seat belt cutter is as the pocket clip partially obscures the back of the cutout. It still cuts Paracord and the like with no problems. I haven't tested the window breaker, but I think it's my favorite design of any Knife's dimple. It's small, so it doesn't hand up on things, and very hard and strong.

Long rant on the lock but seriously it is a very nice knife otherwise
Very sharp. Assisted open is fast, but loosens after a lot of use. Should be expected I suppose. Not a huge fan of the lock though, if it gets flipped on in your pocket you have to fumble around unlocking it before you can open the knife. The point of the assisted open is for quick deployment. Kind of difficult to do so when you struggle for a while, realize it is locked, fumble with the lock switch, and then finally flip it open. Long rant on the lock but seriously it is a very nice knife otherwise.

Excellent SOG Quality
I received the excellent SOG Trident Elite today. What an excellent piece of hardware! After 30 seconds on a leather razor strop the factory sharpened blade was shaving hair smoothly. A drop of oil in several places had the moving parts of the knife functioning smoothly also. As others have stated, the blade does jump out of the handle with more power than I expected. (The Trident Elite video does not do it justice.) And the blade locks open with no looseness in any direction. The handle is ergonomically perfect for my hands. The blade safety lock functions very tightly and much better than most blade locks. The pocket clip works very well for deep carry with none of the handle visible. Overall, I can find nothing negative to report except that, 5 stars are not enough for me to give the Trident Elite a proper, well-deserved rating.

It's OK.
Its a really good knife, effective, sharp, sturdy and super concealed! The only defect I'd say is in the clip... It bent nasty after about 3 months and when I tried bending it back, it just completely snapped and broke in half (The clip not the knife). It would of been nice if it came with spare clips.

Overall great knife. seatbelt cutter does not work well
One of the most useful knives I've ever owned. The anti-reflective coating is nice. Ridges on the spine of the knife make gripping it easy. The blade is nice and sharp and has remained so throughout my use. The clip is removable and able to be installed on either side of the knife. When I tried to do this, the screw was too short to secure it in place. I emailed SOG and they shipped out a longer screw to me in a couple days for FREE! Very good customer service. I'm very pleased with the SOG brand. My only gripe is that the seatbelt cutter does not work well. One has to ensure the safety is on before using the seat belt cutter or the blade might inadvertently open, which can be dangerous.

Gut durchdacht, gut umgesetzt. Stabil gefertigt.
