This is not high quality gouache (not very creamy, dries too quickly, is movable even after drying and can get hard over time) but for beginners on a budget this is PERFECT!The amount of paint per cup also makes you less nervous to experiment with colours because there is just so much paint that you don't feel like you're wasting it. And because you can activate it with water, there is more room for errors.I am going to keep using this to practice until I get better.

Despite the different name, this is the MIYA HIMI gouache set.I bought this one as it was cheaper than the HIMI listing at the time by $5. The price of these sets has gone up since they were first released, but I still believe they are a good value. These aren't the best pigments in the market but are still good. I would consider these student grade quality.This comes with 24x30ml packs of paint. Winsor & Newton sells a gouache set at a slightly higher price for 10x12ml tubes of paint. The value proposition of this set is pretty easy to see. This also comes with 3 brushes and a palette knife, all of which are perfectly usable.The case itself doesn't seal airtight, so if you are opening all the packs of paint, they will probably dry out. Since this is a watercolor medium, you can bring them back just by applying a bit of water to the paint. I recommend plastic wrap on of the paints before putting the lid back on to keep them moist.I recommend this set if you get it at a good price. it introduces you to the watercolor and gouache medium at a low price point and is of good enough quality that it won't limit or frustrate you.

This was a gift for my niece and she loved it! I know she used it right away so I’ll see the art soon. I loved that it came with a pallet and some brushes.

This is worth it! Make sure your us watercolor paper!

Two dozen colours and three brushes in a green, or pink, or orange, or blue carry case. What more could the budding artist want?
