Can this be heated on the stove?

No, as per description/ instructions.

When washing the teapot for the first time, do you do it with the Vinegar solution they talk about in the manual? Or with just soap and water?

Since I'm a person who rarely reads instructions, I didn't do the vinegar. I love this pot. I did use soap and water and use this teapot a lot. It holds much more than it looks like it will hold and it keeps the tea warm for a long time. It was a great purchase and I highly recommend to anyone. I love it.

Can this be used to pour over coffee grinds?

If you want to pour hot boiling water over ground coffee I suggest that you get a French press. This is a tea pot.

What is the diameter of the bottom (please, indicate teapot size--1l or 1.5 liter, and it can't be 8.5" like someone answered)?

I have the 1.5 liter teapot. The very bottom is a flat circle with a diameter of 3 inches. BTW, I love this teapot, it was perfect for my clutzy husband (unbreakable lol).
