GET THE VINYL RECORD IT,S VERY GOOD.P.S THERE IS A CD CALLED LIGHT AND HEAVY ON RHINO RECORDS,IT HAS MORE SONGS.

After soaking in In A Gadda Da Vida for several months during my eighth grade year; requesting it to be played on WHFC Gaithersburg, Maryland in the late hours of the evening, I bought this album at Dart Drug in Gaithersburg and year or so later. This was it! I just about wore out the album, and I'm glad to see it's on CD and remastered. It's a great sampling of one of the HEAVY rock groups. Highly recommended for the novice!

The thing that's missing is the full version of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida (IAGDV for short). There's easily enough space available on a CD to add in the full version of IAGDV. For those who want the full version of IAGDV, the current price here on amazon.com is $4.99. There's also "Light and Heavy" on amazon.com, but it seems to be full of filler to get up to 21 tracks and that doesn't leave enough space for the IAGDV full version. What we really need is a third "Best of Iron Butterfly" CD that combines the songs on this CD with the full version of IAGDV. I'm not sure I would buy it because I already have the "Deluxe Edition" of IAGDV (bought on amazon.com as a used disc) which includes three versions of IAGDV (the classic long version, the short version that's on this CD, and the version from the "Live" album). However, listening to three versions of IAGDV verges upon IAGDV overload, if that's possible!

If your old enough? Not too old? Maybe a little younger? This will change your clock and calender. A little analog; but old ears hear that way and old memories augmentation will make you young again.Worth the time!

This is Iron Butterfly at their best. The remakes are not as good on other cds or albums

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, they made one of Greatest All Time Hits of Rock and Roll. A Great Sampling of a Rock Legend. Five out of Five for me.

I was very upset when i found out that this cd doesnt have the full length version of in the gadda da vida

My only disappointment was that In-a-gadda-da-vita was not the long version - only 3 minutes.

Really Enjoy “ In-A-gadda-da-vita “ but the rest of their music is not to my liking. Also the CD case was cracked from shipping.
