Ok, the truth is I have been coveting this book for quite some time now. It is just so beautiful and I have a weakness for beautiful books. It took me a while to bite the bullet because I didn't necessarily NEED it for our home school curriculum this year so I just pined over it for awhile until I just finally couldn't take it anymore! I do not regret it, This book is just as gorgeous as I knew it would be and the stories are great. They are the perfect length to keep little ears interested and entertained (we read it in our morning basket time in our home school) plus the illustrations are adorable. This is the kind of book I will keep and read to my grandchildren some day.

We love the artwork in this book! Sweet stories! Love that they are seasonal. Easy to read without having to read every day and get behind!

The stories are short and sweet. Gives perspective about different culture with gripping imagination. I made my daughter point to the country or region mentioned in each story in the map. I would tell a little about that place so making her think about the world. She loves this book and reads it every night!

This book is so cute! Every night my kids and I read a story, and they actually listen and remember the moral of the story. The fairy tails are from around the world and they seem so real! I hope there's another volume of this book.

I saw this book first at Anthropologie and decided to buy from Amazon for a cheaper price - the visual pleasure of this book is great and offers a great folksy watercolor visual to little eyes and parents. The stories are not the expected stories you have heard before for the different holidays like Valentine's day, etc. and draw mostly from European/Asian tales. Though I found the book to be pleasing to interact with the stories which are short and sweet, I couldn't help but feel something a little lacking in the telling of the stories - just not your typical Grimm or HCA, many times the stories felt truncated or too abridged that aspects felt missing. That being said, I would say the length of the stories are great for kindergarten and under listeners but the quality of writing and storytelling does lack which makes me give it only 4 stars.

This is a fun well illustrated book. We homeschool and have been reading a couple of these stories each week. My yongest loves the book and often wants to re-read the stories over and over.

Love this book. It’s challenges young readers to listen to the stories. Great for 5th thru 9th. Helps them introduce many people or characters they are not familiar with...they will be excited about using them for abook report. Also, the artwork is great!

If you are a teacher or parent this is a great book. I can't use all the stories at school, but there are enough to make the book worth buying! If you have young children at home, I would buy this book. The stories are from many lands and cultures.
