Fix a broken tent pole
I was able to easily fix a long, broken tent pole with this cord. Knotted the end of the cord and then hooked the cord around a long piece of wire; fed the wire through six poles, one at a time. Tied off the end and it works perfectly. Went camping once since, and the pole held just fine.

Great replacement cord!
Perfect length and thickness for replacing the cord in my Nemo Hornet 2p tent. Not much more cord than that, though, so if you know you have a complex pole setup you may want a longer length. Otherwise, it's lightweight, seems to be very similar to the original manufacturer cord, shipped quickly and was well priced. Only took about 15 mins to do the replacement. I'm happy!

Works Perfect
Worked great to repair the REI Quarter Dome 2 tent poles. I was worried I would have enough shock cord, but I ended up have 6' left over. Took about 30-45 minutes to carefully complete the repair. The 0.09 inches diameter worked great and easily threaded through the tent poles. The 1/8" inch diameter that REI sells in store is too thick.

Works well with Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2
I have replaced it with the original Big Agnes shock cord, it works well. One thing I have to mention is that the cord size is slightly thinner than the original one. 18 feet is exactly or more than enough to replace the shock cord as long as you do not make any mistakes. The price is cheap and worth the replacement yourself as long as you label each pole prior to taking out the old shock cord.

cheap effective shock cord for tent poles
Perfect shock cord for lightweight backpacking tent. Thin and stretchy enough to fit easily in very thin tent poles like the ones in my REI quarterdome tent. Note that REI doesn't sell cord thin enough to restring their own tent. I won't know durability for a few years, but can't be any worse than the original cord. Cord was 18 ft which was not enough to do my whole tent and I had to buy another piece.

Repaired Tent Pole!
I used this cord to replace the cord that snapped inside of a very long tent pole. I own a Coleman Vela Tent that is in very good shape, so getting a whole new tent would have been such a waste of money. One of the two main tent poles had the cord snap, and I needed a long enough cord to replace a tent pole that was about 22 feet in length. I first looked on the Coleman website for an exact replacement kit for this particular tent, only to find that they discontinued the kits. But, they still showed the descriptions of the kits, which informed me how much shock cord I needed: 16 feet. This kit is 18 feet, so it worked very well for my application. Other kits, like the ones you can buy in stores only are, at the most, 10 feet. I started by tying off one end with a few loop knots and stringed it through the first pole. I was able to string the 18 feet of cord through the poles until about the last three sections, where I pulled on it to get as much length as I needed to finish the last three sections, then I had to put my foot on the cord to keep it snapping back into the poles. Once done with the last three sections, I tied it off at the end, making a few loop knots on top of each other. I was able to string it without the need for one of the wires included in other kits. Of course, you should use washers at each end as I did, and thankfully I had some leftover from a different tent pole repair kit I bought for a different tent. If you still have your original washers, you can use those. The shock cord looks almost identical to the original, in respects to size and strength. Overall, it got the job done for me and saved me from having to purchase a new tent.

Perfect for tent repair
I purchased this cord for my REI half dome 2+ tent. I’ve had the tent for 7 years and the cord inside the poles was so stretched out they weren’t snapping together anymore. I actually cut one of the tent pole cords when an after-dark setup was taking too long, but that meant I needed to fix the pole before my next trip. I found a great video on YouTube for restringing the tent pole cords and they recommending this brand. I purchased two packs to ensure I had enough to work with and only used 75% of the cord. The last quarter is packed away with my tent in case I need it for emergency repairs on a trip. Straightforward product, great price, easy to work with. Highly recommend to anyone in the same predicament. It took less than an hour to restring the entire tent. $7ish of cord is way better than hundreds on a new tent.
