This Series Would Make a Great Movie!
Stepping Into the Sky is the final book in the 'Jump When Ready' series by David Pandolfe. In my estimation it's the best of this series or the 'Streetlights' series.Henry and Nikki are enlisted to take on a dangerous mission: to rescue the spirit of a young woman who has been trapped in her family home for almost seventy years. To make matters worse, she is surrounded by demons who feed on her anguish and guilt. Henry and Nikki may be attacked by these same demons and may never be able to return to Halfway House if that happensThis story is so well crafted that I could envision each scene as if it were on a movie screen. It would make a terrific thriller for the big screen. I've read all of Pandolfe's novels... I actually went through them all in a week.I am in awe of this author's talent as a wordsmith. The composition and content evokes very strong emotions from the reader. Every book has brought smiles and tears to this old man's face. Even though these books are all classified as Young Adult stories, they will appeal to all ages from teen to geezers like me (I'm 67).I can't say enough about the wonderful stories by this gifted man. I can't wait for his next book, whatever it may be.I DID NOT receive a free copy of this or any other Pandolfe book in exchange for an honest review. It wasn't necessary.

I have read six books by this author (three in this series and three in the "Streetlights Like Fireworks" series) and somehow
Stepping Into the Sky is the third in the "Jump When Ready" series. This one picks up with Henry and Nikki being recruited to save a young girl who has not "moved on" after death but is trapped in a dream of her own creation that is being facilitated by beings (one word for them would be demons) who are parasites living off of her guilt and misery. Complicated story, but David Pandolfe tells it so well, and Henry, Nikki and all the other characters in his stories are so well developed and believable that you find yourself totally immersed in the story. In fact, I was in the middle of another book when I decided to read "the first few pages" of this one. Finished this one. I may or may not go back to the other one, and that's something I almost never do! So far, I have read six books by this author (three in this series and three in the "Streetlights Like Fireworks" series) and somehow, each book is better than the last. These books are all rated for "young adults" but, truthfully, I think that rating undersells them. I'm sixty, and I love his books. They are far more nuanced than most.

Great series!
This 3rd and final book in the "Jump When Ready " series was just as good as the 1st and 2nd books! Teens who have died and are now living the the in-between place have special talents and try to help those who have died but not accepted their passing. The spirit of a young lady is stuck on earth, reliving the last day of her life for 70 years. Henry and Nickie are sent to help her accept her passing and help her to cross over. I really enjoyed this series from beginning to end. I was left wanting more. What happens to Henry and Nickie , once they "jump" back into earthly lives, after this assignment

so what happens next...
This is probably the best book in the series. I love how the characters have grown into themselves. The new skills they have developed and the selflessness they have makes me love them more. I hope there is an afterlife and that it is just like the one David Pandolfe created for us to read. The only thing wrong with this book is that there isnt another one to follow. I want to follow the next step in Henry and Nikki's journey.
