It works great with my SmartThings hub. Somewhat large, but...
It paired right up with my SmartThings hub. It is certainly sensitive enough from an 8 foot ceiling down. I haven't tried it on a higher one. The sensor is quite large in my opinion. Also, I wish that there were a jumper setting to turn off the somewhat bright LED ring. If it were 1/3rd the size I'd give it 5 stars.I have one other problem with it. There are 2 modes, test and "full" . In the test mode it triggers every 5 seconds or so. In the "run" mode it triggers every 3 minutes. This is fine for an alarm system. However, 3 minutes does not work for home automation. The problem with the "test" mode is that it stays "open" for quite a while (30 seconds?). I understand why they want to limit the number of times they send a signal. It uses a lot of battery power. However, in my case the location in question is only used about 25 times a day, and I'm willing to pay the cost of changing batteries every 6 months instead of 2 years. So, test mode would work for home automation, but it doesn't reset itself to the closed setting quickly enough. That isn't a deal breaker, but it is annoying.

Purchase with confidence! Works great + Outstanding Customer Service
I purchased 2 of these units to use in conjuction with my Samsung Smart Hub. The pairing process was very easy and took less than a minute to complete. You will want to sign into your hub and update the Device Handler to take full advantage. The response time from the sensor unit to the hub is extremely quick..... Less than 1 second in most cases. After I received the unit the seller followed up via Email to ask for feedback on my satisfaction. I initially found that the coverage area was as I had expected so I mentioned that in my reply. After a bit of troubleshooting the seller replied back offering to send me a Wall Unit to test out instead. The Wall unit worked great so he offered to replace both ceiling Sensors that I had purchased with the wall unit model at no additional cost for the units or for shipping. Needless to say if you aren't happy for any reason, this seller has outstanding customer service and you will be taken care of. This product does work great, and I ended up using it in a different application scenario; the wall sensor was better for the application I was initially working on. So..... If you have any doubt, fear no more..... Buy this product with confidence that it works great and you will also be backed by the seller for any reason if you are unsatisfied.

Good sensor, but maybe not for smaller rooms
So far this is meeting my expectations. It turns on the lights when motion is detected and turns them off when motion is no longer detected. Though this is meant to be ceiling mounted, it didn't work that great for my needs on the ceiling. I currently have this in my laundry room. At first, I had it mounted to the ceiling; oh, by the way, use 3m velcro strips until you find the exact location you want to mount this; then I put it on the door, and finally, I have it mounted on the wall right as you walk into the room. The reason for all the moving around is that it doesn't, in my opinion, detect motion right away. Sometimes it took me walking completely past the device for it to finally register my motion. This is supposed to have a 360-degree view of motion yet, it takes me walking a few feet past it to finally decent my presence and turn on the lights. Maybe this isn't made for smaller rooms... but all in all it works well and could be best suited for larger areas.

Amazon sells a used/returned/opened product as new. BeSense tech support is excellent.
i purchase the sensor to replace an X10 sensor/switch combination in our kitchen as a part of our smart home modernization project. The product came with 2 AA batteries already installed, making me believe it had been opened and put in use. But I accepted it because this kind of devices consume very little power and batteries are supposed to last year-long, in addition to wanting to avoid hassle.I tried to make it recognized by a SmartThings hub, but I could not. I could not figure out why and how from the printed manual. I asked BeSense for help on their web site. Two days after, I received an email for how to reset the device to the factory default state by pressing the internal switch rapidly 6 times. Then everything went well. Yes. I certainly believe the device was put in use to run in the previous user's network before coming to me, and this is why I had to factory-reset it.Anyway, the sensor detects entering to the kitchen and automatically turns on the lights between and dust and dawn, while allowing human presence simulation with automatic timed operation when in the AWAY mode. This is perfectly what I wanted to implement. The sensor flashes red LED when it detects motion, which may be too much and somewhat annoying.

Motion detection didn't work for my needs, but seems like a good device for a kitchen or walkway.
Device was the right price, and was extremely easy to pair with my Hubitat hub (and exclude as well). The instructions were straightforward. I tried to make it work, but the motion detection wasn't good enough for my needs. It looks like it would work if you used in a place where people are standing or moving around a lot, like a kitchen, or a garage or office space. I was trying to use it in my office, and the motion detection just wasn't good enough. It only triggered when I entered and left the room or walked around, but when I was sitting in my chair, even when I tried to wave my hands, it didn't work well. I am going to try the Ecolink brand as others recommended, and see how that works for my needs, but I can't recommend this one for the use case I had in mind. Again, I think it would work great in a kitchen, a front entryway or walkway, etc, where it's picking up someone moving.
