Autism Abracadabra presumes competence both for yourself as a parent and your child or young adult , allows for multiple outcomes and helps with creating new beliefs about your self and your child of /young adult. This book is a great resource for new autism families as well as long time families - so many ideas / to do list/ helpful resources.As a mom to an autistic young adult non-speaker it’s great to find a how to book that includes suggestions / modifications / and accommodations of the many activities in the book for using with young adults.I love to cook and as any good chef knows the recipe depends on good ingredients and the 7 magical ingredients of autism abracadabra: the magic of being you, magic of motivation, magic of fun, magic of the unplanned, magic of the pause , magic of celebration and the magic of timing all combine for a delicious final course - increased interactive attention span. This book although is for autistics it really is great resource for all families - whether neurodiverse or neurotypical.

I love this book and really think it will give all autism parents a clear roadmap to begin / continue their journey with their special child / children / adults. We autism parents are always weighed down with daily challenges, uncertainties and worries. We feel so heavy inside us from time to time. And this book is like a breathe of fresh air. Kate Wilde has magically transformed such an overwhelming subject into something fun, light, easy to read, heartwarming, and, most importantly, doable by us parents in our own homes not any less effective than any other autism professionals. This book has been a fantastic resource for my family and I walking the Autism journey with our teen daughter. So many great ideas to use and support our time when with our daughter in her focus room. The impact of has been awesome, amazing, fun, joyful and life changing. I love it and love its magical experience.

I was so excited to read this book that I pre-ordered it and it did not disappoint! It is fully loaded with ideas to keep your child's attention. I absolutely love all of the creative game ideas! The idea I found most valuable was how to "become" the favorite object of the game and ways to keep yourself at the center of the game to increase your child's interactive attention span. That was something I had never considered before reading the book. It was easy to read, easy to implement, and most importantly, my child and I are having fun together!

Originally, I was hesitant to purchase the book due to its magic theme, but I have attended Son-Rise and understand they are merely playing!I hope others disregard the comment another person made about masking; that person cannot be more wrong. Son-Rise encourages joining with isms.By understanding their child and entering their world, Kate Wilde helps parents become their child's favorite person. The book is packed with fun, creative ideas and techniques that are applicable to all ages and levels of autism.

I ran a Son-Rise Program for my daughter and it dramatically improved her language and ability to play interactively. Kate’s book is a wonderful refresher about many of the ideas I learned in my Son-Rise Program training. This book is easy to read and inspiring with many different game ideas that can be adapted to any level of language and ability to participate. I highly recommend it.

I have read a lot of books about Autism and psychology after my son was diagnosed 2 years ago. Kate’s books are very straightforward and easy to understand. She has an obvious passion for the subject. I have found it difficult to put 100% of what I learned into practice but the change in my perspective has been invaluable.If you have a child or relative that is diagnosed with autism, Kate and Raun’s books should be given to you instead of the “Understanding Autism” leaflets.

This delightful recent addition by Kate C. Wilde is yet my favourite. Written in a very user friendly language, packed with limitless games and activities, this book is aimed to inspire stretching the interactive attention span in children and adults with ASD. This book is truly magical in itself. Now every parent and therapist alike can in no time become a fun and loving companion to someone special struggling with social interaction. Thank you dear Kate for sharing your wisdom and experience. My daughter’s playroom will become an even more magical place and she is thriving. I am very grateful indeed.
