Gods, Graves and Scholars

The books reads like a adventure stories of all those pioneers who dared to dream to dig deeper into our past. The language is easy to understand and is quite relevant till date. Good for people who love archeology and adventure. I gave it 1 less star because somehow the paper quality of the book and printing seems sub-standard. It's kinda quality which you find when buying books from seedy roadside stalls or at the traffic light. So a bit disappointed from the book production side.

Are you into the romance of archeaology? Do you love stories about uncovering ancient mysteries? Then this is the book for you. I first read it as a teenager and have read it every decade since. It was the book that made me an historian.

Excellent book and excellent service

Nice read

This book is one of my all-time favorite books. I read my father's edition of it in the 1950s and of course, wanted to be an archaeologist! But given my lack of math skills, I ended up being an art historian instead. I bought this paperback edition as a gift to my post-grad museum intern who is working part-time in Europe in archaeology. He was not familiar with the history of the profession.
