The product itself looks and feels to be of superior quality and the packaging is cute, functional, and comes with some handy extras like feminine wipes and lubricant to help with inserting the disc. I ordered these discs in hopes of spending less money (my period is heavy and lasts 8 days, so I go through a lot of tampons) and reducing my impact on the environment. I went with the discs over the cups because I had tried disposable cups from another brand some 15 years ago and I could just not figure out how to get it inserted correctly. Then again, that company didn't have multiple instructional videos like Pixie does on proper application. Anyway, I bought the discs (and the applicator, separately). I was able to to get it inserted first try, and I'm fairly certain it was inserted completely and correctly, and it was comfortable! I thought all was well until I experienced "dumping" which may have only been a small release of the contents of the disc, and it may have only happened while I was otherwise relieving myself, but with my super heavy flow and prior experiences bleeding through whatever menstrual product I was wearing, I was a little too paranoid about leaking that I have decided this product is probably not for me. I want it to be known I didn't actually leak (other than a few drops after using the toilet) in the few days I tried out the disc, but the anxiety around the possibility of leaking was too much.Why did I give the product 5 stars?Well, first of all, it's a great product, and seems to work out for plenty of other people. Just not for me. More importantly though, is because of Pixies customer service. I reached out to them hoping they might have some way to help with my situation, as I had spent a decent amount of money on the few Pixie items I felt I needed to start my reusable period product journey (The money spent however pales in comparison to the money I've spent on tampons alone over the course of half a year). Pixie responded - so swiftly - letting me know they'd have a set of cups sent to me to try within the next few days. Free of charge and no questions asked.I'd done research before buying the discs. I vaguely remember reading something in a review about "dumping". I'd researched the cups and saw there were instructional videos available that didn't exist 15 years ago. All those things told me to buy the cups and despite all that I went for the discs. But this company clearly values their mission over profits and for that, I can't recommend them enough.

I didn't realize it came as a whole little kit, I was so pleasantly suprised!I love that they include the canvas zipper storage case - this is so handy for storage, or for packing when you know Aunt Flo is supposed to come soon. All the little trial size cleaner and sanitizer packets are awesome!It comes with clear, pictorial instructions on how to insert and remove the disc, if this is your first time trying out a disc, and instructions on how to remove the string if you decide you don't like it (along with a sanding board to sand any rough edges it may leave when you remove it).As for the disc itself -This is the 3rd disc I have tried, and the first that can completely handle my heavy day with ZERO leaking! It took me a few seconds to figure out the right angle to get this one in, with the curved edge. Once inserted, it's very comfortable, you don't feel a thing, and I had no problems with the angle after the first insertion. I ordered the large, as I'm on my feet all day, and on my heavier day it's not always convenient to take it out, empty, and rinse, several times during the day. This completely held my heaviest day with no leaking at all. So nice to not be sitting in blood!It does auto-dump when you pee, but I had zero leaking outside of that. By the 3rd day, I felt so confident with it, I tried it without even wearing a panty liner, and got one tiny drop. I think the curved design helps it fit tighter to your body and keeps it from leaking out behind the disc. I did find if I was sitting for awhile, I occasionally had to dash into the bathroom to reposition the silicone string, but you can't feel the disc at all.NOTE: If this is your first disc, I found it took me a cycle or two with my first disc to really get the hang of getting it positioned right so it doesn't leak. If you don't make sure you get it back all the way, it will leak out behind the disc. Also, I just run my disc under warm water before inserting, and this works for me without a lubricant!

Love the soft material and easy removal tail on this menstrual disc. The cute storage container even comes with free samples like sanitizing wipes.I initially got the large size but it was too big for me. When I contacted customer service, they were super helpful and they quickly sent me a free medium disc to try instead. Their customer service is truly special - you don't see service like this often anymore.
