Witten Automatic Vent 306MGR Foundation

I bought two different products due to quantities needed and the availability. Of the two, this one was a bit more money, but totally worth it. The quality was just so much more superior than the other. Installation is a little time consuming when installing 12 of these, but each one was about 5-7 minutes to install. Automatic part works well. I have 5 of these under my deck, so to get to them to change them would be a pain. Automatic are the way to go.

These are amazing! I replaced what looked like the original vents that were put in 60 years ago. None of them had the same size opening in the foundation but we were able to replace them all with a little creativity. Installation would have been easy peasy if not for the foundation inconsistencies. It turned off cold this week and they all closed automatically, so now I won't have to go out with the hammer next spring and beat them open. I definitely recommend these.

Great vents with thermostatic louvers to close them when winter comes. Once the block is removed, not always easy, they are easy to install.

We did purchase 3 of these for under our house for ventilation. ONly one of them does not work as it should and will be a hassle to get it back out,

The product does what it says, but Screw Adjustments on Automatic Vent are hard to get started. Fit is made for concrete foundation but can be adapted to cement plank siding .

THESE PLASTIC FOUNDATION VENTS HAVE A BIMETLLALIC COILED SPRING THAT IS SUPPOSED TO REACT TO COLD TEMPERATURES TO CLOSE THE FOUNDATION VENTS AT JUST ABOVE FREEZING TEMPS AND OPEN THE VENTS FULLY ON WARM DAYS. THE WEATHER WAS BELOW FREEZING FOR FOUR DAYS. THE FLOOR OF MY HOME FELT COLD. UPON GOING OUTSIDE AND OBSERVING THE VENTS THEY WERE ALL FOUR OPEN. THE NEXT MORNING WHEN THE TEMPERATURE GOT ABOVE FREEZING I HEARD WATER RUNNING UNDER THE HOUSE TO FIND BURST WATER PIPES NEAR THE AREA OF THE FOUNDATION VENTS. I CONTACTED THE SELLER BUT THE HARDWARE STORE NEVER CONTACTED ME CONCERNING MY COMPLAINT. I HAVE USED ANOTHER BRAND OF AUTOMATIC FOUNDATION VENTS CALLED ' TEM VENTS' I HAD THEM IN MY HOME FOR 9 YEARS AND ALL 12 WORKED FLAWLESSLY. DON'T BY A CHEAP KNOCK OFF OF ' TEMP VENTS'.

The installation screws are located too close to the outer edge of the cement blocks and with a 1/4" waterproofing coating on the walls, the screws cannot bite into the block, instead they chip off the coating. So we ended up using adhesive caulk to glue them in place. Other than that issue, the vents are of decent quality and no evidence of defects.

These vents have a great appeal as well as easy installation. I replaced the original vent on my brick home with theses new ones. The price is affordable.
