Like Resident Evil for XBOX, but BETTER
This game has been said to be just a port or copy of the PS2 game Onimusha. This isnt a port. This is Genma Onimusha.Having played and beaten the PS2 Onimusha on hard level. I must say that this Genma Onimusha for XBOX can be crazy hard! The easy level on Genma Onimusha is a tad bit tougher than the normal level on PS2!! And it only get tougher. There is a new tug of war system now for the green souls. Instead of just taking them in to enhance your swords, the monsters now want the green souls and will try very hard to suck them in. This adds alot to gameplay. 1st, while your trying to suck up the green soul against a monster trying to do the same, you are VERY vunerable to attacks from other monsters. So most of the time you have to let the green soul go just to defend yourself.2nd, if the monsters get the green soul they will become what Resident Evil players call "crimson heads" Look out!And if a Boss gets a green soul.... oh boy.. your gone!!There are monsters here that were not even in the PS2 version! But even with the toughness of the bosses and even with the numbers of monsters you'll encounter, this game is fun! The graphics are very nice and the soundtrack is perfect. For the few pennys you'll pay for this game you just have to have this game. If you pay a hundred dollars or one dollar for any game you have, this game must be played by survival horror fans.Plus.......the trick box puzzles are fun too!Hope this helps and i hope you play it.

Dollar Store CD Case
I was only given a CD case for this rather than the Xbox case or a DVD jewel case, pretty cheap and lazy. That said, I love this game so I'll live. Can't believe they couldn't use and empty Fusion Frenzy case at least. Disappointing.

Genma Onimusha
You could say that this is the definitive version of Onimusha because it's got extras and the best visuals. However, I can't help but wonder why Capcom didn't decide to loosen up the controls a little more. This game controls like the original Resident Evil where you press up to move forward and left and right make your character rotate. It's not a game breaking control scheme, obviously, but it could have been updated to make moving the character easier. Visually it's great and I can't complain. The added bonus would be the ogre tower that has floor after floor of enemies and bonus treasure as you work your way to the top. I think this game is entertaining with some really great cutscenes and an impressive ending but I still have one question after all of it. In this game, Nobunaga is this demonic emperor that your trying to stop. In real life I thought he was supposed to be some sort of Japanese legend or something. Why did they make Nobunaga a bad guy? Perhaps I just need to research what I heard a bit more...

It's nice but it's INSANELY difficult.
Onimusha was the first game I got for the PS2 when it came out. It's a hard game but it's manageable with some strategy and skill. Then the Xbox came out and PS2 & Gamecube fans mocked it to hell and back. Let them have their system, but When I heard that Onimusha was going to be re-released for the Xbox with some extra stuff, I wasn't pleased cuz I wasn't about to buy an Xbox just to play it. Not like one can really run into other Onimusha fans that easily anyway; Onimusha's one of those games that appears on the internet to have a huge community but none of the gamers I knew in real life had ever played it without my own recommendation. The day I got my Xbox 360, I bought Genma Onimusha because of the 360's backwards compatibility. - Now usually a remake that puts a bunch of new stuff into the game gets you new content. With Genma Onimusha, it's all content that makes the game HARDER. There's a new boss (mandatory), a couple of new enemies (both harder versions of already frustrating enemies), a second Dark Realm that has 10 floors instead of 20 floors, and the green souls. - If you collect 6 green souls you can become invincible for a short period of time. Problem is it is used against you more often than not. You can't select WHEN to become invincible, so it's usually after all the enemies are dead because you can't really collect souls while fighting, especially because these are "heavy" souls (slow to absorb). The biggest problem is that the enemies can absorb these souls too. If they absorb them they turn red, which means they're stronger and harder to kill. Given that you're usually fighting a horde of them, one of them will get the green soul while you're still trying to defend yourself. So all in all, this game's just harder than the previous one. I don't blame them for adding more content to the game but I would have expected maybe some new weapons or something.
