It works great
Not for 1999 Dodge Ram 2500. This product has a lot of development to go and all communications are with China.

A Great OBD2 Scanner with a Quirk
I have many scan tools. Kind of a hobby with a use or purpose. My preferred brand has become Thinkcar. They make some amazing scanners and if you catch a sale on Amazon the cost is the. Just as amazing. I would put this scanner at the top of the basic OBD2 scanner in the $90 to $150 range. Now for a couple of Quirks. Right out of the box most applications and the basic operating system requires updates. Since I work on many males and models the update process took over an hour with a 1 gbps connection. The other issue is that the menus seem to be reversed. When you first try to run an ECM scan you are first presented with the two reset options and their diagnostics. Not a big deal but deviates from common sense and other Thinkcar scanners.

Basic
You can get any code reader for cheaper that does the same thing. Unless the other services were free. you have to pay 30$ for each extra service.

Advanced OBDII Scanner - Gives a Lot of Information
The media could not be loaded. I am impressed with this ThinkCar, ThinkScan SR2 scanner. I sat in my truck and went through it for almost 90 minutes. The unit connects easily to your house WiFi, and stayed connected some 35 feet while I was in my truck. It found and synced with my 2013 Dodge RAM Laramie, Longhorn Edition and came up with my VIN and specific truck details. It scanned all the components of my engine. It did airbags and cluster panel, engine temperature, fuel system, exhaust system, ABS system and so much more. There is a slot for a micro SD card so you can record the data and generate a report too. It shows PASS or FAIL and so much detail and information it is well beyond my ability to use. Everything this scanner does is specified in the well written description.I am in my sixties and since my first car a 1964 Fairland 500 I do a majority of our car and truck maintenance and repairs, unless the problem is an internal engine or transmission issue. So an OBDII scanner is a helpful resource.I already have two less expensive OBDII scanners that I use to read an engine code. They are handy to discover an issue, fix or replace a part and erase the codes before an inspection. However, this comprehensive car diagnostic tool has more information than I need or understand but will be an excellent choice for the more advanced home or professional mechanic. This scanner is not just a simple code reader like the average less expensive ones. This car diagnostic tool diagnoses the 2 diagnostic systems commonly used in automobiles, almost covering most of the main modules of the cars.I am putting this in my tool box and look forward to using it from time-to-time but if you are looking for a simple scanner to read an occasional fault code and clear it, you can fine a good one for a lot less. However, if you want or need a scanner on a more advanced level this scanner is for you. It is easy to use, works well and fast and provides you with a wealth of information on the health and systems of your vehicle. It also provides you free lifetime updates and a generous 5 years warranty which lets you know they are confidant in their product. 5 Stars

Convenient and good tool to have for automobile
The reader loads very fast, hardly has any lag at all. It's easy to use, checks functionalities and smoke check fairly quickly and accurately, and looks up car model correctly. Only downside is have to jump through a lot of hoops and no easy way to generate a report required for smoke check. For this price, I would expect they make it less difficult to generate a report.

It does almost everything. Great display, easy to use.
This tool came well packaged with the unit inside a sturdy carrying case. The first thing I had to do was to registered and activate the software, which was very easy to do. The tool is very well made. The screen is bright and sharp. The UI is logical and very easy to navigate. The WiFi range is good. I have used this tool on four different cars so far, a Chrysler, a Chevy, a Toyota and a Mercedes. It worked great every time. I had trouble with the IMMO function on the Chrysler. Contacted the tech support, but they never reply. However, after applying an update a few months later, I was able to add a new remote. Here is a list of what this tool did for me so far:1, My Town and Country would kill abruptly and randomly. This tool correctly pointed the problem to the crank position sensor. After changing the sensor, the cat has been running great. Added a new remote, and found a bad tpm sensor.2. A Taurus had a similar problem. A repair shop had changed both cam and crank position sensors with after market parts, but the problem persisted. This tool picked up the sensors out of dync error. Changed out the sensors again with Ford parts, the cars has not killed since. The tool also suggested the air flow was too low. Changed the air filter, and the the gas mileage went up by over 10%.3, Helped fixing an ABS sensor issue on a RAV4, and found a gas cap leak.4. Helped fixing multiple issues with a Mercedes E300 from AC to Electrical. This tool has paid for itself many times over within 5 months since I got it. This is a great diagnostic tool, but I wish the tech support is more responsive.
