The Dean Martin Christmas Show

Ok, finally a WHOLE show uncut!! YEAH FOR EVERYONE!! They should do that with EVERY show!! I LOVE Dean Martin and think he is THE best overall entertainer ever!! I just wished they had a whole set of this series! He was a gem and it should be out there so others can enjoy it! The Gunther/Renke (Spell?) people have their set, but I hate the guy who does the 'explaining'! I don't need the producers chats!! Just want the show!! ARG! But, the only ones out there seem to be cut and pastes of shows! Ah well....at this point, I'll take what I can get, but would love to see this whole show in a boxed set uncut sometime soon!! WOW! THAT I would be in line to buy!! :-) But, this CD is great!! Loved seeing the whole cast and was shocked to see some of the kids were future stars! LOL Blasts from the past for sure! Enjoy!! We sure did!! :-)

Even though I wasn't even born yet when this show first aired on TV, I grew up listening to Dean Martin in our home, and have recently rediscovered him (among others like Sinatra, Como, Williams and Bennet). I bought this dvd because I thought it would be a fun holiday show, and I was right! I shared it with my mom who has Alzheimer's Disease, and her face lit up and she smiled and sang along with some of her holiday favorites. My favorite is "Marshmallow World" and I was glad to see it included on this dvd. The program ends with a bunch of stars naming where they are donating toys (mostly children's hospitals and orphanages across the county). They don't show the names of the people as they talk, and the dvd notes just calls this part "Dean and 39 stars"... I was only able to identify 25 of them (some were obvious: Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Johnny Carson, etc.). My mom knew more of them than I did! We only had the dvd for two days so far, but we've watched it three times already. I highly recommend it.

I think this Special is as good as it got when it came to Christmas shows or The Dean Martin Show. From the kid who couldn't stop laughing (I think Don Deluise's son) to Dean Martin busting up in the sketch with Bob Newhart. The Girl dancers/ singers: The "Golddiggers: were great, talented and beautiful. The dance numbers were great as were the musical & vocal arrangements of the groups songs. Dean Martin singing "Marshmellow world" was hilarious. Two girls were dancing on both sides of him, while inconspiciously holding him up so he wouldn't fall as Dean wanted to dance during the number. His singing was still great. Denis Weaver's number, "Marvelous little toy" was fun as he sang it to the kids. Dino singing "Christmas is for kids" was beautiful and nearly brings tears to my eyes. The variety show format is sorely missed from today's tv line ups. This special was broadcast in 1968, an era gone by when tv used to be for families. Great Christmas dvd.

This DVD what just exactly what I was wanted and exactly what I was expecting. I truly couldn't be happier. You just can't go wrong with this DVD if you are a big fan of the Dean Martin Show and especially if you want to turn the clock back to December 1968, when every major star of the day had an annual Christmas Special on TV. The 50 minute DVD is basically a typical great episode of the Dean Martin show from NBC, with the main theme being Christmas. A few skits are just a tiny bit slow, however seeing Dean singing Christmas songs, especially the songs with the Gold Diggers and Dean sitting on the piano and singing with Ken Lane, truly brought back so many good old memories from that timeframe. Even Bob Hope drops by for a few good lines. And the quality is even really great for a TV show that was taped in 1968. I can't actually say much more than I loved it, and now that it's added to our collection of Christmas DVDs, it will surely become one of our true favorites to watch each year again at Christmastime.

Finally, they got the songs, the clarity and PRICE to match up! Now keep in mind this is NOT the 1967 Sinatra & Martin Christmas special that we all want. From what I have gathered for so many years, the two families can't agree on it so we might have to wait another 45 yrs for that to happen. Get it together and make it happy please!! But if you want to have fun, kick back with a cocktail you will enjoy this. Brief description: Dean singing Marshmallow world with two hot cuties and a smoke in hand, awesome! Bob Newhart skit returning an item to a store, Dean as your store clerk Goldiggers doing a medley of songs with and without Dean, thanks ladies! Comedy of Dom D. by himself. Dean at bar then with Ken Lane at piano a brief hello with Bob Hope but NO COUCH SCENE DAMN IT! AGAIN TIME LIFE-DO ONE DVD OF JUST DEAN ON THE COUCH FOR $10!!! Silent Movie skit with Jack Webb and Dom D. Dennis Weaver singing with kids (go make another drink and take your time!) Cast singing Dean sings-AWESOME Many guest-fundraiser. Ok Time-Life, your back on track! Now each year give us another Christmas special, Thanksgiving and keep it as original as possible. Neil D. whatever role you played in this, THANKS!! And again to the family members of Dean, we all THANK YOU for keeping Deans fans in your heart and wish you all the very best in 2013.

A trip down memory lane of the greatest all round entertainer of his time, Not just for Christmas. Fist class delivery and price.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my mother who in her younger years always enjoyed Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. I was expecting this to arrive on December 24, just in time for Christmas but to my pleasurable surprise, it arrived a full week ahead of schedule! Fantastic delivery service and the video brought back many wonderful memories for my mother. Fantastic find, Excellent service and highly recommend Layger, the seller! Most likely this will be the first of many purchases from them.

I'm a big Martin fan, but this Christmas show falls flat of the shows we remember. The best sketch is with Bob Newhart in (toupee). The rest of the show is drivel. To get in the Christmas spirit put an album on, you'll feel better in yourself then.

Très belle pièce pour ma collection de vieux films-souvenirs. Il sera très intéressant de le revoir à chaque année à l'époque du temps des fêtes. Nous étions quatre personnes à écouter ce DVD et tous a l'unanimité, avons apprécié ce 45 minutes de bonnes TV. Excellent.
