I had to change my thermostat in my condo since it wasn't working and when I pulled off the old one I noticed that the wiring was connected to an electrical box and not just threaded through a hole. I was stumped on how to put my new one on as it's a totally different size. Looked on youtube and there was a mention of using electrical wall plates, great idea! So I went and got a couple and noticed that while it worked it wasn't visibly pleasing to look at since the screw were showing and the thermostat wasn't securely held. So, looking in amazon I noticed this honeywell plate, crossing my fingers that it would fit my new one. Yes, it's a little pricey for just plastic but it comes with 2 sizes of wall plates and mounting bracket for the electrical box. Seriously took 5 mins to get everything installed and looks good.

Worked great for Honeywell plate cover. Purchased to cover old screw holes from old thermostat.

Order this BEFORE you plan to install your thermostat. Saves a lot of trouble, plus if you determine you don't actually need the back plate(s), you can return them unopened. Mine turned out to be needed, fit great, and our electrician was happy to put it into place before wiring the new item.

This Thermostat cover, helps installing the Honeywell Thermostat on a standard electric box. It has two white plates that easily masks the wall imperfections after removing the original device. No need for painting.
