Now there is an easy way to have the extra "flash power" you need in the field. The Flash X-Tender packs flat, weighs less than 3 ounces and sets up in 30 seconds and your flash output is extended a minimum of 2 full f-stops! Bring your birdsand animals to life with an eye highlight. Used and praised by nature photographers world-wide. When used with TTL (Through-The-Lens) flash metering, exposure is automatically handled by your camera and flash, and no special compensation is required.

Been using on my Pentax fgz 360 flash for bird photos. Its helped somewhat. Its a bit flimsy and rather overpriced, but there's not much as an alternative other than making your own. I made my own with a map magnifying Fresnel lens I bought at the dollar store, and some sheets of cardboard and duct tape. Its quite a bit larger and more awkward than the Better Beamer, but a lot cheaper and does the same thing. I've also compared this Better Beamer on my FGZ360 to using just a Sunpak 622 Super with the zoom head. The illumination is about equal, but I am limited to a sync speed of 180 with the Sunpak. So for birding with a 300mm or longer lens, the Better Beamer on the fgz360 lets me sync at 1/320 or whatever speed I need. But if I'm shooting with an old manual lens, the Sunpak is an easier, though bulkier, setup.
