As I inched down the dirt road on the side of South Steens Mountain, I saw the rest of the blue-eyed pinto stallion's band. First the bay and a foal. Unsure if the foal is the stallions - sometimes a stallion will take over a band from another stallion. As I moved down the mountainside, more horses appeared with at least two other foals. These three joined the others.Together they moved over the ridge out of sight, the stallion staying behind them, between them and my car.
