Q: Are the tops on these S/P shakers closeable? If not, what keeps the salt from absorbing moisture from the air and caking up and not flowing?

Hi, no. You cannot close/shut off the tops. No issue(s) however thus far on my end. I actually love these shakers. I live in NV though so the air moisture issue likely differs here as opposed to where you live...?
