No more tailgate rattle
I run a 35” spare and the rattle from the tailgate from even the smallest bumps on the road became unbearable. I was looking at HD tire carriers or body mounted tire carriers but they’re all around $500-$1000 bucks. At under $200 these hinges were a great option I thought I’d try. High build quality and strong hardware. They look great on the door and only took 20 min to install. Tailgate rattle is completely eliminated for me. I even tried hitting some residential speed bumps without slowing down at all, and zero rattle coming from the tailgate. I definitely recommend these.

Awesome Hinges
Very easy to install. What took the longest was painting the hinge area because Jeep paints the tubs with all of the doors and hinges in place.Anyway, what I did on my install! I first took two door stop wedge’s and pushed them under the tailgate on each end of the gate. Removed tire, then removed the top hinge first, painted the area. Once dry, I installed the top hinge and tightened the two bolts on the hinge and the one outside bolt on the hinge base mount next to the taillight. I then slowly opened the tailgate and installed the most inter two bolts and tightened them. Checked the gate’s function and moved onto the bottom hinge. The bottom one same as top! Wedge in the door stops, remove the factory hinge, clean and paint the area.Installed bottom hinge in the same way, but pushing it up towards the top of the gate once I had the first three bolts in and a bit snug. Then remove the wedges and open the gate and install the inter two bolts and snug really good. Check function of the gate. Function was great and then tightened all of the bottom hinge bolts.I put the supplied anti seize on all supplied bolts on install. And used a synthetic grease in the hinges. I bought these because I have 35’s and that big tire adds a good amount of weight to the overall weight of the gate. These hinges look awesome and function smooth and quiet. Highly recommended these hinges even if you are running with a factory size tire. Lots of weight bouncing around back there while you are off road.

Great Hinge!
I added new rims and heavier tires to my JK which added more weight to my tailgate. I was getting a rattle when hitting bumps. I knew the added weight to the factory tailgate hinges was probably the issue. A buddy of mine bought these hinges for the same reason and said they were quality. It solved his rattle issue. So I did some research and this was a great solution at an affordable price. Everything else I found with a reputation of reliable quality was three to four times as much in price.I installed this myself. It took a few hours, but I enjoy that kind of thing. When you removed the factory hinge there is no paint. So I sanded of a bit of rust and painted the exposed area. Obviously they paint the JK after the factory hinges are installed. They provide a black out tape to cover this, but I decided to paint it instead. It looks better and protect from rust as well. This is not required though.InstallI would have gone faster if I had a second pair of hands. Just making sure things are level is the key. The weight of the tailgate pulls down as you tighten down the bolts. So you have to make sure the tailgate is level and will close before tightening all the way. This is where having a second person really helps.I highly recommend this Hinge. I've had it for over a year and it's holding up fine.

Excellent quality hinges!
My stock hinges had a lot of play and made the rear gate squeak and rattle over every bump. These solved that problem completely.1) Take the spare tire off2) Do one hinge at a time. I started with the top one. I reused all of the factory bolts because they were in good condition and I felt like the T50 countersunk head bolts are a lot less likely to strip than the Allen head bolts included.3) Once you get the bolts run all the way down, but not super tight, have a friend open the gate slightly and hold it level or slightly above level - use the body lines as a guide, and then tighten the one accessible jeep side bolt. Remove the gate side bolts, open the hinge, and tighten the other two jeep side bolts. Then reinstall the gate-side bolts, hold the gate level again, and tighten gate bolts completely.4) Repeat for bottom hinge. In my experience, the gate moved around a lot less during the bottom hinge replacement, but you probably still want a hand keeping things level.5) Grease the hinges until you get grease out of the bushings. Check and lubricate the rest of the gate hardware. I actually found the black bracket on the latch side of the gate loose, so I tightened those two 7/16" bolts also.

Quality hinges and exceptional support.
I have been having it now for 3 years. Solid hinges. I bought the tire carrier second hand, it was missing the hardware. I called MoR/ryde to purchase the missing hardware and to my surprise they sent me the hardware free of charge, even though I had bought it off someone. That shows that customer service with them is A+. High quality metal and finish.

Love the look of these hinges
I love the look of these hinges. They are much sturdier than the stock tailgate hinges of my 2014 Wrangler JKU. The install was fairly easy, only issue was the instructions said to use the included hardware, however the hardware include made no sense and I don't think it was correct, took off a star for this. They were a bunch of small bolts, washers and nuts, not the larger bolts needed for this. I ended up just using the OEM hardware I took off, just hit them with a little black paint first. The included black vinal squares were a great thought to cover up the little area where the paint (or lack thereof) showed through.
