Q: Is any other product required other than a clean tire?

Tires must be dirt and oil free, and cleaned of any previous tire dressing in order for SunBlock for Tires to adhere properly. I recommend using SunBlock Tire Prep before applying SunBlock for Tires in order to ensure proper adhesion.

Q: is this a petroleum product

Really don't know, the can says that it has high adhesive values. I do know that it prolongs tire life, I use it on all of my 8 ply tires, the tires still need replacing before the tread life but it adds a couple of years to their life and when you are paying 200 to 300 dollars a tire it adds up

Q: Does this apply thick? Does it look like dried on paint when its dried?

NO IT DOES NOT GO ON THICK, is very easy to apply. The tires look very back, but a week or so the look natural. The preserving of the tire is super!!! I recommend this product, very much. protect the pavement under the tires. I live in a very hot part of the country (115-120f) all summer, but it is dry heat!!!

should be on the same site. you can use simple green in lieu of their prep I do
