Q: Will this protect from coyotes?

It will help to a degree. Coyotes usually take down their prey by nipping that the heels and legs but kill by biting the neck and suffocating. This color is thick so it will cover a larger area and its very sharp so it will definitely stop a bite that hits the spiked section (assuming it's in the right position at the throat) I got this to protect my dog from wild free roaming dogs and it does give me more peace of mind. It is sharp though so it hurts when she bumps your leg with it on.

Q: Will it fit a frenchbulldog?

Yes, it can. You measure the dog's neck circumference to see which size is right.

Q: Does it collect hair?

Doesn’t collect hair on my Doberman or Pit. Uncertain on a long haired dog
