Though it makes it so that i cant really use the original carrying case i had, i honestly don't miss it because the plus side to a clam shell device is that you can just throw it into a bag and the screens wont receive any damage (My 2ds xl was completely beat to shit on the outside when i got it used), having the thin top plate protection is nice to have for that reason and is well protected when used together with the grip.The grip itself allows you to hold the device a little lower which gives you a full grip it rather then a claw grip when holding it without. the system fits perfectly into it with proper groves added in as to not block any of the ports, game slot or cameras, though with how small the clips are holding the device in, i wouldn't want to take it out often so mine is there to stay.It is hollow plastic, which in another review says that it makes it lighter and honestly i do prefer it since it still feels solid regardless and isn't taxing to hold for long periods of time. The material feels good in the hands but if yours are known to get sweaty it might start feeling a little clammy after a while but a wipe down gets rid of it.The kickstand is honestly my favourite part of it. It is small and might break if you put a lot of weight on it, but i tend to have it sticking out while i play so that i can just set it down from time to time. It props it up at a good angle so that you can either keep watching something play out or grab it and play from there on a desk (though i don't recommend pressing any buttons without gripping it first since that might cause it to fall over, it's basically a tripod stand), might look to get a few 3d printed in case it breaks.Not much to say about the stylus, it is longer then the standard 2ds xl one, but it is rough and annoying to take out/put back in, the grip doesnt block where the OG stylus slot is so i'd much rather just use some extendable styluses i bought off another posting.But yeah, it's great and i'll forever be using it for as long as i feel like playing on it, Highly recommend if you plan to use your 2DS XL system for a long time, be it catching up on your favourite games or modding it to play them in other ways.

This grip turns the New 2DS XL from an average 3DS to one of the best. Before this, I never quite liked the New 2DS XL.The N2DS XL blasts sound downwards, which causes a few issues: you had to hold it a bit awkwardly to cup your hands to hear it clearly. The lesser height of the N2DS XL also means (at least for me) I had to use my pinky fingers to hold it instead of my palms. This grip fixes all of these issues. It has grooves in it to reroute the sound forward so it's no longer an issue and makes it more comfortable to hold.It's also very light. Some others have said this makes it feel cheap, and it does, but it's a good thing. The N2DS XL is one of the lightest 3DS models, and due to its weight, it's perfect for playing while lying down.The grip also doesn't block off anything so you'll never have to remove it.Combine all of this and add that the New 2DS XL also has the best button feel out of all the 3DS models, it's now the most comfortable model to play on. I reach for this model over even my dual IPS New 3DS XL with the Monster Hunter X grip.I have no opinion on any of the other stuff this came with, just the grip itself. I highly recommend it.

I love this grip. Comfortable, lightweight and also flat so you can leave your console on a flat surface without bumps.The extra pen is extremely useful. I put a picture of both for size comparison. One of the stock pen (mine is metalic) vs the one inside the grip.The stand works good too.Screen protectors are perfect. They are already applied on the pictures.I did not use the top cover. I use a silicon cover for the top.
