Fantastic fun kit for Learning Python and RPi
This is a superb kit with very high quality aluminium parts. I bought it as a fun way to learn Python rather than from a dry old textbook and it has been perfect for this. All the Python code is available in the example programs and when you want to dig deeper there are lots of extra programs supplied that are not even mentioned in the manual. Its very easy to add additional sensors eg PIR, LIDAR accelerometer IR camera etc via the I2C and digital IO ports. It is also very good if you are not at all interested in coding, with the supplied programs working perfectly, particularly the face, colour and object recognition (via Vilib library) and test to speech, music and obstacle avoidance example programs. The high quality parts and labelled parts ease construction, but be aware some of the screws are very small and easily lost. The M1.4, M1.5, M2 screws do make it quite fiddly so younger children will need help.My advice having made two of these is:1. To ensure you buy good quality 18650 cells (I bought some fakes that had 1/10th of their stated capacity).2. Ensure you calibrate all the servos before fitting;3. Before fitting the servos with the M2x10mm screws, screw the M2x10mm screws into the aluminium leg to form the thread well, I used some light oil to help. On my initial attempt I didn't do this and possibly was not quit square and using excessive force the head of a screw broke off, which was difficult to rectify.4. Put some foam pads on the feet to help grip.Don’t forget you need a Rasperry Pi, SD and batteries to complete.I cannot recommend this kit enough, the aluminium parts are all supplied in foam and the 12 servos and all electronic components worked perfectly.Lastly I have found Sunfounder very helpful in answering any questions.

Excellent Kit, Instruction could be improved, Great way to learn to programme python and EzBlock
The media could not be loaded. The PiCrawler kit is clearly laid out with all parts easily identifiable, It comes with everything needed except the RaspberryPi and two18650 batteries and charger (you can purchase a charger and batteries at least 3000 mah from £20)The only documentation supplied is a 6 page Overview leaflet with references out to PDF file , initially I was unable to access the URL with a message “This site can’t provide a secure connection” the issue was resolved by turning off the BT Web Protect.The PiCrawler is fairly easy to build as long as you read the instructions and you will have to swap between the PDF and Overview document to complete the assembly. Warning its is important to zero the servo motors before assembling the legs and each leg must be set at the correct angle, this will simplify the calibration of the legs.The downloaded PDF is very detailed the first 3 chapters cover programming via Python programming language. Chapter 4 covers EZBLOCK Studio which uses an App to interface with the PiCrawler, this is the simplest method to understand and experiment with programming for beginners where python is more advanced programming.Included in EzBlock and Python there are examples of program demonstrating the Key features, which are easy to modifiable which then can help you to learn how to program the Robot.I am pleased with this purchase it its a good machine for beginners,. The PiCrawler walks slowly across the floor in preference to wheel vehicle that can crash while experimenting with programming. The Robot has endless programming possibilities with its advance features intelligent obstacle avoidance and tracking

The servos ain't working, the assembly is really bad instructions.. don't buy this you are just wasting money.
